‘Star Trek: Section 31’ Trailer: Michelle Yeoh Unleashes Harsh PG-13 Violence to Save the Federation
The official trailer for “Star Trek: Section 31” is here, and it’s clear once again that Paramount+ is boldly going into uncharted territory for the franchise: The first ever direct-to-streaming “Star Trek” movie could very well, as Jonathan Frakes noted to IndieWire earlier this year, open up a whole new format for “Star Trek” storytelling — a format that could simply allow for a whole new array of “Star Trek” stories to be told.
Michelle Yeoh is back as sassy, psychopathic Philippa Georgiou, who was the Emperor of the Terran Empire in the mirror universe, where she ate conquered subjects and threw nemeses in her “agony booth” at a whim. She’s joined by Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson, Robert Kazinsky, Kacey Rohl, Sven Ruygrok, James Hiroyuki Liao, Humberly Gonzalez, and Joe Pingue. Miku Martineau will play young Philippa Georgiou.

Section 31 has been five years in the making. What began as a television series morphed into a television streaming movie that, according to director Olatunde Osunsanmi, is "just under two hours." [via Trekmovie] And fans are understandably concerned how those two hours are going to play out, especially since the trailer and first look were both darker in tone and didn't seem to match what Star Trek was "all about."
Osunsanmi, though, had something to say to the fans that are worried. In a recent interview with Trekmovie, he said "we worked really hard to make sure we kept up the ideals of optimism and kept up the ideals of what do we want our society to be in the future." He understands why the fans are on edge about the potential changes the movie could make to the Star Trek franchise, but he's hoping fans are pleasantly surprised.

Liam Payne has died in Argentina after a fall from a balcony and One Direction fans mourn him across the world as he was only 31 years old. The incident that happened on Wednesday was confirmed by Buenos Aires police.
Liam Payne Started With The X-Factor
Like Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, Liam became part of Simon Cowell’s boyband in 2010 after competing on the X-Factor. Incredibly successful, the band stormed the music world through to 2015, and then the members went solo resulting in the dissolution of the group in 2016.
Although Liam Payne and his fellow musicians didn’t win the X-Factor, their amazing success led to them all becoming household names with songs like Gotta Be You. One Direction’s first USA tour put them on the world stage and they appeared on The Today Show with tens of thousands of fans gathering in The Plaza.

High school sitcoms have always been a mixed bag, largely because the issues kids are dealing with at that age beg for a more nuanced take than the half-hour format can provide. Godawful shows like "Saved by the Bell," "Head of the Class" and "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" are the low standard a high school sitcom has to clear nowadays, so we need to count our blessings when something as wonderful as Mike O'Brien's "A.P. Bio" and the currently airing Brian Jordan Alvarez's "English Teacher" arrives.
Before those two sitcoms, the bar was set reasonably high by Gabe Kaplan's "Welcome Back, Kotter." Based in part on Kaplan's sitcom act, the comedian stars as Gabe Kotter, a former underachiever who returns to his old Bensonhurst Brooklyn neighborhood to teach at the high school that used to seem like a prison to him. It has been nearly three years since former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor has stepped into the octagon for a pay-per-view fight. In UFC 264, McGregor lost to Dustin Poirier after the ringside doctor stopped the fight and it was discovered that McGregor had sustained a broken tibia. Since then, the former champ served as the coach for “The Ultimate Fighter 31” facing off against opposing coach Michael Chandler, which has led to the pair facing off at UFC 303 on ESPN+ Pay-Per-View on Saturday, June 29. Anticipation is high for the event, and ESPN is adding to it by offer a limited-time, early-bird deal on the fight. In the past three decades, the Fallout series has successfully cemented its place as one of the most popular post-apocalyptic role-playing video games of all time. Thanks to its massive success, a TV show based on the series was also released on Amazon Prime recently. Since its first game, Fallout (1997), the series has drastically changed but the franchise hasn’t lost its core element, making it very popular among the fans.
So far, fans have got nine Fallout games across many different consoles, and one may assume that their first game would be the shortest in terms of runtime. However, that’s not the case. As for the longest Fallout game, it is only 1/4th of the time it takes to obtain 100% completion of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. Here, we have ranked every Fallout game depending on the time it takes to complete it:

Daniel Roebuck has racked up over 250 credits over the course of a career that has lasted nearly 40 years so far, and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have just broken the news that one of his next credits will be on writer/director Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, which is set to receive a theatrical release on October 25th. According to the site, Roebuck will be appearing in the film as Santa Claus. It seems fitting, because Roebuck was already in Santa mode for a family-friendly movie called Saint Nick of Bethlehem, which he co-wrote and co-directed. That movie will be released later this year as well.
Roebuck provided the following statement: “I’ve been holding this secret for a long time! I’ve been really excited about it. I’m actually entering into the movies that I watch. It’s extraordinary. This is Terrifier bigger, badder, best.“

Since its debut 1966, Star Trek has been about boldly going forward. And no Star Trek series has gone further forward than Discovery. After a rocky first few seasons set about a decade before The Original Series, Discovery found its place by jumping to the 32nd century, farther into the future than any other entry in the franchise.
As Discovery prepares to end its mission with its fifth and final season, fans might be wondering what’s next for the 32nd century and the TV franchise as a whole. With Strange New Worlds staying in Disco’s original pre-tos era and Lower Decks and Prodigy exploring the period after the Next Generation movie Nemesis, Disco’s exit seems to leave the 32nd century unexplored.
But not so fast, says Star Trek executive producer Alex Kurtzman. “I think you can expect more of [Discovery’s] 32nd century,” Kurtzman teases in an exclusive interview for...

Aquarius Releasing founder Terence “Terry” Levene, who released dozens of B-movies in grindhouse theaters in the 1970s and ’80s and beyond, died Jan. 13 in Englewood, NJ. He was 90.
After working at Commonwealth United, Levene started Aquarius Releasing, which released genre films ranging from kung fu to sci-fi and far beyond and serve as a sub-distributor for Roger Corman and others. Based on the novel by Anthony Burgess, Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film "A Clockwork Orange" is set in the not-too-distant future when roving British teenage gangs have mutated into bizarre, ultra-violent, morals-free hedonists who commit crimes to their hearts' content. The protagonist is Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) a 15-year-old punk who drinks drug-laced milk before taking to the street with his gang of droogs to savagely and gleefully beat and assault anyone who passes into their field of vision. Alex is eventually arrested and put into prison where the government subjects him to bizarre new rehabilitation techniques in an attempt to turn his mind away from violence.
Throughout, Alex is depicted as clearly beyond redemption. He has no compassion and will never have compassion. When he reads about Jesus Christ being crucified, he imagines himself to be the Roman soldier whipping him. The government's brainwashing techniques only instill in him a...

Love him or hate him, Rob Zombie has become one of the prominent and unique voices in the modern horror landscape. His style is immediately recognizable, his choices in aesthetics, casting, and music practically codified. I say this not to criticize Zombie; he’s one of my favorite current filmmakers, and I like or love nearly every single one of his movies.
With two of his films celebrating an anniversary this year – Lords of Salem turns 10, House of 1000 Corpses turns 20 – it seemed like the right time to revisit his filmmaking career so far.
Today we’re ranking Rob Zombie’s entire live action filmography to date…

Set course for Phase 2.
The next chapter of Alex Kurtzman’s Star Trek franchise at Paramount+ is beginning to come into focus. On Tuesday, the Paramount Global-backed streamer announced that its long-gestating Section 31 series will indeed be a movie that brings newly minted Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh back on board with a feature film rather than what was originally intended to be a spinoff of Discovery, which reignited Star Trek for the conglomerate.
Sources say Kurtzman, whose Secret Hideout captains the Trek franchise under a nine-figure overall deal with producers CBS Studios, began making plans to convert Section 31 into a tentpole feature film for the platform last summer as insiders were nervous about oversaturating the iconic property. The idea to shift to tentpoles kicked in after Kurtzman, sources say, saw Everything Everywhere All at Once and realized the role would likely earn Yeoh an Oscar.

In this weekly data series powered by Parrot Analytics we look at the top breakout shows of the past week. Breakout shows are the most in-demand series that have premiered in the past 100 days.
The biggest gainer among this week’s top breakout shows was Netflix’s “That ’90s Show.” But in addition, demand for the reboot of “That ’70s Show” rose by 38 this week to 21.7 times the average show, according to Parrot Analytics‘ data, which takes into account consumer research, streaming, downloads and social media, among other engagement.
Tapping into the fan base of this now-classic sitcom seems to be a move that is paying off for Netflix. However, the service may not be realizing the full value of reboot. The original series has seen a similarly sharp increase in demand as fans rediscover the show that started it all, but seasons of the original show are available on Peacock,...

Rob Zombie's "The Munsters" hits home video and streaming today, and it's a loving ode to the widely beloved original 1960s series. Gone are the buckets of blood that accompany some of the director's other work, but his usual flair and attention to detail remain. It's a prequel to the campy classic we know and love, set before the titular Munsters were a happy monstrous family. Starring Zombie staples Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as The Count/Grandpa Munster, it's a loving and colorful engagement with the classic franchise.

Sony Pictures’ latest antibody antihero movie, Morbius, which stars Jared Leto as the Living Vampire, has drawn first blood. Following in the footsteps of the split-personality, villain movie Venom, Morbius is an origin story with a nemesis at the waiting, and the promise of bloody battles to come. Yet the self-made vampire should have made his entrance years ago. Indeed, Morbius was initially set up to be the main villain in Blade II, after Blade (1998) starring Wesley Snipes opened the wound to modern superhero films.
Writer David S. Goyer planned to feature Morbius as the main antagonist in the not-yet-produced sequel, according to the Blade DVD commentary. Blade director Stephen Norrington even shot a teaser scene, which was eventually cut, promising dark deeds to come from Dr. Michael Morbius in a sequel that never materialized.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is renowned today for promoting yet-to-be-made-films via surprise cameos that appear like last-minute product placement spots.

It’s been three years since Paramount first announced the development of a new Star Trek series starring the incomparable Michelle Yeoh. The as-of-yet untitled spin-off has been presented as a story that will follow Yeoh’s Emperor Philippa Georgiou in her work as part of Section 31, the covert intelligence organization that works autonomously within the Federation and was first introduced in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The new images posted to Instagram on Monday show the cast members seated in their director’s chairs, in front of the set for the Munsters’ residence at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. “Since Halloween is rapidly approaching I thought it was the perfect time to Meet The Munsters!” Zombie wrote in the photo caption. “Direct from the set in good old Hungary.”
Zombie first announced the untitled Munsters pic as his next project back in July, calling it the project he’s “been chasing for 20 years.” In the months since, he’s routinely teased the project with social media posts, depicting set blueprints, the clay sculpture which would...

Malika Williams is living her best life.
If you've been tuning into Good Trouble, then you've seen that this beloved character has had quite the journey with balancing activism, working through her trauma, and falling in love.
This season, Malika explores her sexuality and love styles in her first polyamorous relationship with Dyonte.
Of course, it isn't coming without its fair share of challenges and obstacles for Malika, as we saw on Good Trouble Season 3 Episode 16.
It's good vibes only with the radiant Zuri Adele, whom we caught up with to get the 411 on all things Malika.
Was the polyamory storyline always in the cards for Malika? How did that come to be? It's interesting to explore because you don't see that too often.
Yeah, which is why I'm so glad that we're exploring it. I haven't seen it often on television, especially from a millennial perspective -- from a Black perspective.

This isn't the first time a police reform storyline was at the forefront of an episode, but it did make for one of the most effective episodes.
The writers made some bold choices that paid off on Chicago Pd Season 8 Episode 8.
Initially, it seemed like yet another instance where a white cop killed an innocent Black man, but the situation quickly evolved into something way more complex than that.
There was no question as to whether or not David Whelan was guilty. Anyone who watched the footage was very much aware that he was going down for murder.
Everyone except for Whelan, that is, who remained ignorant and stuck to his version that he was acting in self-defense for far too long.
I get the intention, it just, I don’t know, seems a bit overzealous, right? I’m just saying, you don’t punish the many to get to the few.

The only thing more dangerous than a drug dealer taking out other drug dealers is an unstable Ci.
And that’s just what Intelligence encountered on Chicago Pd Season 8 Episode 7.
Man, that was one hell of an episode. It was messy, emotional, heartbreaking, and, at times, frustrating.
It's been a while since an episode focused solely on Adam Ruzek kept me on the edge of my seat, but Patrick Flueger brought his all to this episode. I felt every single one of his emotions.
The cast has been stepping it up this season despite the choppy storytelling!
Props must also be given to Michael Drayer, who nailed the role of Tommy, and painted a harrowing and painful reality of drug addiction.
While Intelligence really wanted to nab Monahan, a new player in town who was taking out other dealers in the game to eliminate the competition, Tommy should've been pulled...

The relationships that we see on television can be intriguing for many different reasons, from drama to romance to humor to just about every type of bond represented on our screens.
However, some relationships take that even further, making the pairing or their journey more memorable than most. There isn't always an explanation of why that may be; sometimes, the way characters interact stands out.
But one thing is the same for every memorable TV relationship: they were worth the wait.
Whether there was a wait for them to share scenes or a wait for something like that to appear onscreen, it was worth it.
And this isn't only about romantic relationships, because bonds with family and friends stay with you long after a show is done.
Here is a selection of a few relationships that displayed a connection meaningful enough to really stand out long after an episode or the show aired.

Firaxis and 2K Games have announced a surprise new Xcom game called Xcom: Chimera Squad, which is set years after Xcom 2 in a world that’s changed drastically, as humans and aliens have learned to co-exist and work together. 2K said in a press release that the game is “neither a sequel nor expansion.”
Chimera Squad brings back the turn-based tactical combat you’re familiar with from past installments but with 11 all-new human and alien squad members. There’s damage-dealing alien Axiom, psionic human Shelter, melee expert and alien-human hybrid Zephyr, gadget specialist Patchwork, gunslinger Blueblood, the snake-like alien Torque, and several others. You can find a full rundown of the characters right here.
Here’s the synopsis released by 2K:

After more than a decade, writer-director Rob Zombie returns to finish his sadistic Firefly Family Trilogy, reanimating their spree of murder and mayhem after House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005), where they met a bloody end. Now, having miraculously survived their mosaic of bullets on a desert highway, Otis (Bill Mosley) and Baby (Sherri Moon Zombie), along with half-brother Foxy Coltrane (Richard Brake), are engineering a brand new speedway to murder city in 3 From Hell.
The film starts off with a total envelopment of media frenzy: media as fear-mongering, media as bloodlust; media creating obsession, media creating our narrative. It’s kinda drab, it’s kinda rad, we all tune in. What we find is that, since they’ve been gunned down (but survived), the Rejects have become a media sensation. Not unlike Bundy or Manson, the Firefly Family have gained further infamy, which means they’ve...

Bill Moseley’s career in horror has spanned decades, but he’ll probably always be best known as Otis B. Driftwood from the murderous Firefly family. The prolific actor first took on the iconic role in Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses back in 2003. The directorial debut from the renowned musician quickly gained a cult following and led to the even more popular sequel The Devil’s Rejects.
The chaotic film stars Moseley as the most sadistic member of a depraved group of criminals who seem to enjoy nothing more than causing pain and destruction. Now, after many, many years, the Firefly family is finally back and ready to wreak more havoc on unsuspecting victims.
Bill Moseley was kind enough to sit down with us here at We Got This Covered for an exclusive interview recently to talk all about the long-awaited movie 3 From Hell, in which he revives...

What do porn stars do when their lives in the adult film industry end? That’s the question at the heart of documentary filmmaker Bryce Wagoner’s film “After Porn Ends,” its sequel, “After Porn Ends 2,” and its new follow-up, “After Porn Ends 3.” The film looks at the tragedies and successes of people who left an industry that famously uses up young talent. Some have no regrets about their years in the industry. For others, a career in the adult industry has proven to be a conduit to certain despair. Johnnie Keyes: Johnnie wasn’t the first black adult performer, but he was the first black Porn Star. Coming from poverty he enlisted in the army and became a champion boxer. You can go ahead and add Daniel Roebuck’s name to the list of actors now attached to the currently shooting 3 From Hell.
Director Rob Zombie took to Instagram earlier this week – as he so often does – to confirm that Roebuck, best known for his work across Halloween 2 and 31 (which were also helmed by Zombie), among others, has officially climbed aboard. He’ll be reprising his role from The Devil’s Rejects, of course, playing Morris Green, “Ruggsville’s favorite TV personality.”
He’ll be rubbing shoulders with a solid cast, too, which includes the likes of Sid Haig, Austin Stoker (Assault on Precinct 13), Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace and, as of a few days ago, Jeff Daniel Phillips, another regular Zombie collaborator who’s been seen in The Lords of Salem and 31.
Meanwhile, the announcement of Roebuck came bearing the following caption: “Casting news:...
