Having watched the first two episodes of this new offering by TLC, I love it. Imagine a cross between "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D-List".
Leah and family don't bother with ignoring the cameras. They talk to the crew, they talk to us through the cameras, they sit down and discuss (with us) the events of the day. It has the feel of a real-life sitcom where the actors make asides to the audience.
Leah is the wise-cracking wife that we have come to love in "King of Queens". Seriously, did she write all her own lines on that show? She is versatile as a comedienne. One moment she is the stand up comic doing her shtick, the next she is playing straight man to one of her family members.
About her family, she says, "We are loud...annoying...judgmental..." That pretty much describes most sitcom families. She calls her husband Angelo "The Silver Fox". They have a give and take relationship. He takes her grief and he gives it back to her. Their daughter, Sofia, is a budding comic. She offers some of the best lines.
Leah's parents are Vicki and George. Vicki may remind you of Kathy Griffin's mother. In the second episode, they give her faux funeral eulogies that are half roasts and half tearful tributes. This is a close family full of love.
Shannon and William are the sister and brother-in-law. Shannon has some of the family comedy genes. They laugh about their sisterly competitiveness.
The nanny is Trish. Did they pick her up at Central Casting, because she seems to be a hoot.
The Remini's have some famous friends. Cheryl Burke from "Dancing With the Stars" is a personal friend. I have always enjoyed her on that show. Other famous friends appear at the party they throw to celebrate those who stuck by them when they left the Church of Scientology. Some serious moments are spent discussing the church and its strict, controlling rules.
It must be a hilarious experience to be a member of the film crew. I am looking forward to more of Leah and her family. Can we possibly hope that Jennifer Lopez or some other friends drop by to hang out with Leah and her irrepressible brood?

Not many Hollywood Reality shows safe to sit down and watch with the whole family anymore.

Look, this show is not the King of Queens (KOQ). Stop looking for that. It's Leah. Simply and plainly put. Leah and her family make light of themselves and their life in Hollywood. All they ask is that you watch, laugh a little and enjoy. This show is absolutely funny and enormously refreshing. There isn't any sleeping around, fighting, drunken stupidity or excessive dangerous situations that teach people (especially younger viewers) that even you can be famous and wealthy if you are a drunken, no talent skank. Above all, there is no need for subtitles when someone is speaking English. This show is a CHARACTERTURE of a real Hollywood family that doesn't take themselves too seriously. They hold it all together when other celebrities and their families are falling apart. They love each other, laugh and have fun. Leah has eccentricities that people can relate. The thought of getting older, our weight, our looks and the safety and well being of our children all manifest itself in a light and relatable way. NO reality show is completely real (I know, it's like finding out there's no Santa Claus). Leah's show is most likely no different. Watch it for what it is. Real fun...PERIOD. My kids and I love Carrie Heffernan. But when we want to watch Carrie, Doug and Arthur, we watch KOQ. I suggest you do the same.
When they announced the show was coming on, I couldn't wait. Well, it was everything I had hoped for. Leah's Mom, sister, daughter, nanny, and adorable Angelo and cute as a button George couldn't have been better if they were picked from central casting. I love that there are 2 new shows every Thursday night, but that's not enough. I want more. When Leah was thrown off "The Talk", I stopped watching. They were stupid for getting rid of her, why, because she had personality and a sense of humor, and took some of the focus off Julie Chen? Enough about that,,, now, Leah should be a host on "The View",,, but that might not work with her new show.. So...Love Love the show....On to more seasons...
I love this show!!! I always enjoyed Leah on King of Queens but, seeing her with her family is hilarity at its finest! Like she's says, "You can't make this sh** up!!!" I laughed, I cried and I got to see an actress (star) being 'normal' for a change. I hate (and I do mean hate) reality TV. It's fake, scripted most of the time and feels so empty. But, the Remini family feels genuine and believable. Leah shows us that she is grounded and stays that way surrounded by her family and friends. I hope and pray this show continues for many more seasons because I truly enjoy getting to watch it. Every family member and close friend is a joy to watch. I didn't find myself wanting to turn it off even once. YAY!!! Good job TLC!!!

What to say..... I adore Leah Remini as an actress and person and I was so excited when the show became available to watch on Hulu. However, I did not get into it at all. It was boring, seemed moderately scripted (where's the reality in it?), and was just plain drull. I honestly could not force myself to watch past episode 4, it was that bad.
However, keep in mind that this is only my personal opinion. I love her acting, especially in King of Queens, but this show just seemed so forced for some reason. I love that she opened her life up to her fans and viewers... I really do. But it fell flat in a big way. Sadly, this "Queen" lost her throne with this show.

Was bored and came across this reality show and it's HILARIOUS. It's not a lot of unscripted reality shows out Leah's whole family and and friends are crazy and entertaining to watch. I'm mad that tlc is canceling the show after two seasons, It may have gotten backlash with the whole scientology issue, but it still received good reviews They definitely need to take this to another network.

There does appear to be deep love and infection between the family members. Sweet.
That said, isn't this "reality based" role of Remini frighteningly similar to her role on KOQ? Domineering, micro-managing, incensed by the seriously un-funny or authentic on screen antics of her imbecile TV family? Apparently there were ZERO acting skills required for the KOQ part, since Remini is exactly the same character in this faux "real life" series (hey, we all know it's scripted). Clearly, Remini enjoys her power as the family matriarch, and plays upon the idiotic and spineless behavior of her family for superiority.
When Remini sits in front of the camera, with one of her family members to expound upon a story in the sgiw, you can see Reminni straining hard to elicit a laugh from the audience. Sorry Leah, it's just not working. And sadly, Remini's child is dangerously spoiled.
It's good to be the Queen, but what about the village idiots?

Love the show, Leah, family and friends - hilarious and warm. I hope it starts up again.
Found the show on Amazon and binged the whole thing. Everyone cracked me up, reminded me a bit like our family. Love Leah and Angelo especially! Read some of the other reviews and I have to say...If your expectations were that of a character portrayed on TV you were bound to be disappointed no matter what because they aren't them. So many favorite moments hard to choose one. BTW I LOVE Trish!
I like Leah however this show is totally contrived. Situations are created for the camera and blown out if all portion.
I watch as characters act up to the camera and try to be unique if not eccentric. However a lot of it falls flat as they have nothing to add to the subject. For example the step father is a conspiracy theorist however he makes one comment on the golf course about an overhead commercial liner and it is left at that. No explanation of why he said it and if he did believe himself he would not just continue playing golf but do something like run to a bunker.
The breast surgery for Leah sister's thirtieth was also a story that went nowhere - she never got the surgery and it looked as though it was never a serious gift in the first place.
As for the mother -again all contrived for the camera. Pretty poor.

I thought Leah was hilarious on "King of Queens", but she was not very good in this show. I watched the first two episodes and I'm not sure that I will watch any more. I am a fan of hers, but this show just was not funny. The characters were not very interesting and kind of boring. They were likable, but not interesting enough to base a show around. Her mother was trying too hard to be funny. She seems like a very nice lady, but not funny. I guess with all the reality shows out there she's just taking her turn at one of them. I don't see this show getting signed on for any more episodes than were already taped. It's ashame because I was expecting better from Carrie!!
Im caught in the middle of this one show where her sister - goes on and on about her blood her heart diabetes, cancer etc etc i was thinking this is so rude.. there are so many people dying daily from most things she joked about.. Pull your head in girl...it was so wrong especially the American way is caring or the religion you feel. I love the show because they are not fake they laugh a lot and are just so normal but that was a seriously bad story line and nothing positive about it at all I hope it goes on for a lot long we sure need more normal down to earth families like this one I have always liked this lady she seems so down to earth

This show is just not worth watching. Very scripted, I would guess that this is a last ditch attempt to revive her now non-existent career just as Dancing With the Stars was. Not working.
This is supposed to be a reality show but doesn't seem to be more than a bad sit-com.
Her mother should be embarrassed to allow herself to be made the butt of Leah's bad jokes.
This show also appears to be one big advertisement for the family's restaurant.
Very hard to watch. Don't bother.
