This movie was so bad, it looked like the actors were cringing while having to deliver the horrible dialogue they were given. Even the animals didn't look happy. The direction, editing, script and camera were just so bad it was painful to watch. I love animal films but this was just an embarrassment. Mira Sorvino seemed to not want to be there and it was only because she committed to the film that she did it. Ralph Macchio acted more like a puppy than a human, ready to sprint around the dog park and the supporting actors who played the goofy henchmen look like they couldn't even act at Chucky Cheese. A lot of the scenes were so badly shot that the action was off camera (like scenes where the dog would be chased by the henchmen). The circus scenes were even worse. The few extras they used sounded like a huge crowd (that takes talent to multiply your voice to sound like a crowd ten times what they were) and I could even see some of them staring at the camera (that doesn't include their overacting to action that isn't even there). Oh, and the animal's mouths? I know it's low budget, but they could have tried a bit harder to match the mouth movements with the voice overs. Half the time the animals were speaking but their mouths didn't move at all. A lot of great ventriloquist animals there. I can't believe this movie found distribution, even on Netflix. What a disappointment.
