The film version of "Abraham & Sarah" was a vision in the making for more than 14 years before its release.
The screenplay was based upon a stage-play by Cathy Ellis whose first performance was June 3rd, 1986 at the Gusman Theater of the Performing Arts in Miami Florida.
The 2000 version of the "Abraham & Sarah" stage-play cast included Michael Lackey, Nancy Haywood, Kyle Bielfield, Rick Krive, and Kathy Linkous.
Writer & producer Cathy Ellis says that the characterization of "Abraham & Sarah" is based on the true life love story of her parents, Bill & Esther Ellis who were married for 52 very happy years.
While filming at Greenwich Studios, the studio was so sound proof that the cast and crew had no idea a Tropical Storm had hit the area until they opened the doors and were greeted by 70 MPH winds.
