¨Meñique y el espejo mágico¨ or ¨Tom Little and the Magic Mirror¨ or "Tom Däumling and the Magic Mirror" is a very entertaining and funny computer generator movie compellingly realized in enjoyable visual style . This is a decent quality film plenty of adventures, charming situations , humor with tongue in cheek , fantasy and results to be extremely fun . Cuba's first computer-animated film is set in a magical world , there small but valiant Tom Little runs his parents' farm with his disapproving siblings , but an infestation of insects destroys the entire crop and threatens ruin. The brothers want to sell the farm, then Tom embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to release the kingdom from a spell and win the hand of a beautiful princess and while he meet a giant and befriends him . On his journey there , he has to deal with a witch, a thief, a talking ax, and more. A magic mirror helps him and the kindly giant . Later on , Tom enlists a knight's tournament, which involves the hand of the king's daughter. But the main question of the movie is to determinate who is his real love: the king's daughter or the courageous thief ?
The hero of Cuba's first fully animated feature film is starred by Tom who undertakes a wonderful adventure with plenty of fantasy , emotion , spectacular feats and breathtaking scenarios . This is an agreeable fantasy for children's hearts with friendship message . Fun as well as brilliant animated piece that has the rare quality of appealing both to youngsters and teens but on different levels . The picture is narrated with imagination and sense of wonder and turns out to be entertaining enough , as is apt for small kids but no contains graphic violence , neither profanity . It is varied, exciting and fun for children, so let us value the fantastic adventure with benevolence : suitable for the hearts of kiddies and with a message of friendship . But there must also be some criticism : computer animations seems to be a little dated and it does not finds international standards ; furthermore , the story is not ready to sweep away adult observers either . Not everything looks modern , but rather naive and lively enough with few details . So this is a movie for the whole family , though very demanding adults better avoiding it .

It's an acceptable computer generator movie , a great animation with attractive screenplay and funny happenings . One of a kind , if you enjoy interesting stories and have a soft spot for attractive characters and well planned scenarios, you are in for a great one . Director Ernesto Padrón is a journalist, graphic designer, comic book illustrator and animation director and was director of the children's magazines Zunzún and Bijirita. He collaborated with his brother Juan Padrón in the feature films "Elpidio Valdés", "More was lost in Cuba", and the classic : "Vampires in Havana", and was assistant director in "More vampires in Havana". In July 2014, "Meñique" was released, his first feature film as a director, and the first animated 3D feature from Cuba, which won the Coral Award for Animated Feature Film at the 36th International Havana Film Festival and nominated for best animated feature at the Goya Awards and the Platino Ibero-American Film Awards.
