I've long been of the opinion that sword and sorcery type films are the absolute hardest to get right. Slip on the tone or the look just the tiniest little bit and things can go off the rails so very, very easily and that balance is even more difficult to maintain when working on an independent or short film budget, where the dollars are often simply not there for the required art direction and costuming work.None of this appears to be a problem for writer-director Guy-Roger Duvert and the talented team behind Cassandra.
