The episode name "Lazarus" refers to the miraculous story of Lazarus who was brought back to life by Jesus and can be related to three characters in the series who have gotten their lives back in this episode. This story is from the scripture of John 11:1-44. Lazarus of Bethany was the brother of Martha and Mary and lived near Jerusalem. The account notes that Jesus loved Lazarus and his family and that when Lazarus died of illness, Jesus wept and was greatly disturbed and restored him to life four days after his death.

Stroke of beauty

This episode is a museum piece. The entire series is alltogether nice to watch: shocking, amusing, funny, funky, horrifying, disgusting and very entertaining. But.. this episode stands out. It is like the deep blue of an ice berg that's turned upside down. Print it out and hang it next to the mona lisa, nights watch and the water lillies.

What is weird to me is the fact that this episode stands out so much. It feels like it's written on another planet somehow. I don't want to give away anything, so I won't mention any specifics (just watch the series and let this episode surprise you and blow you away) but everything just fit.
