The saw kerf on the small tree at the beginning of the movie is on an angle as if a wedge cut was to be made. The same tree 20 years later now has a horizontal scar from the cut.
The little tree shown at the beginning of the film would have been HUGE twenty years later----certainly much, much larger than the seven-foot Christmas tree that was shown in the present-day portions of the film.
The supposedly historic, 200-year-old farmhouse is very obviously a log home of modern design, built within the past couple of decades. Authentic period Vermont architecture looks NOTHING WHATSOEVER like this home.
