First of all this is a B-movie. Nothing wrong with that because there are tons of good B-movies. Sometimes it's not necessarily a big budget that makes a great movie. There are plenty of examples of good movies made with a tight budget. Uncaged starts promising but the more you get into the story the clearly it gets that this is going to be a waste of your time. Well at least it was for me. The acting isn't great at all, not the worst but not good enough. The storyline gets worse the more the movie progresses. The special effects are close to non-existent, but that I could live with since it is a low budget movie. It's just the bad script that brings this movie down. Don't waste your time on this one.

(all-excited) "Ha, you killed someone, you killed somebody"
This is an actual conversation from the movie... and the movie isn't at all a comedy. That pretty much sums up how comically painful it was to sit through it.

Are American teenagers really hooked on sex? So bored with films depicting teenagers so hungry for sex. Around 15 minutes or so of teens talking about it which I found to be a waste of time and footage.
Annoying characters which made you cringe though the main protagonist was the best of all actors. He played his character well.
Certain scenes were just laughable and I am not talking about it being comedic. It was just plain stupidity and no thought into what the scenes were trying to represent.
Don't expect anything 1st rate as the whole film was done on a budget. As for originality, well, there were a few scenes which I thought were well done but it wasn't enough to justify the film as being good, scary or entertaining.

OK, i was so irritated of this movie so I had to write short review. So, first it does not look like a B-category movie on first sight. It has some nice story for beginning, the camera is good and all in all the flow of the movie starts kind of a promising.
So, as the story progress..you just go into it, and then all of a sudden you got totally unconnected story point, then it happens again and again and again..until you lost track of what's going on here. On top of that add dozen of awkward moments that come out of nothing. Totally unexplained moments which just pop in and story progress into some irrelevant direction. The cherry on the top is the awful acting (with 1 honest exception from the guy with the glasses).
So simply put in: The movie looks like bunch different of clips with the same people just stitched together. I'm just giving 2/10 because of the good camera. Waste of time, or you can watch it like a comedy.

OK, so low(ish) budget by Hollywood standards with naturalistic lighting, no constructed sets and some hand held digital camera work - and all the better for that, by the way - but... just fresh and in parts very very funny. (Especially the bit where a gansta proves just how scary he is with a lighter!). I had to write this review having read some negative ones.
Contrary to some you might have read there are no odd plot turns, no moments when you don't know what's going on, and above all the acting is great. I particularly like the relationship between the cousins.
Definitely worth watching if you're a fan of the werewolf genre or just like off-beat, funny movies.

I liked this movie for the most part; The acting was better than most B-movies. The opening scene was really bad and should have been left on the cutting room floor. I noticed a lot of editing scenes in just for filler. I would have enjoyed the movie if the werewolf looked better. This werewolf looked worse than MTV's 'Teen Wolf'. I mean look back 40 years and you'll see scarier creatures than this thing.

The cover and the idea of the story for 'Uncaged' were not bad, the cover looked pretty creepy actually and while unoriginal the story's idea intrigued. Having seen my fair share recently of bad low-budget films and decent ideas executed badly in film, part of me was also nervous.
Nervousness that sadly was proven to be justified. There may be worse films out there than 'Uncaged', but it is definitely among the worst recent viewings for me and a very good example of how not to do a low-budget/B film. This is not coming from someone narrow-minded or wanting to hate everything, actually aim to be a fair reviewer and it actually takes a lot for me to give a low rating to a film and be negative. Giving something the lowest possible rating is not a regularly used one these days, but 'Uncaged' is for me one of the deserved recent recipients.
'Uncaged's' good potential ends with the story concept. It is an example of a film that starts poorly, with the "trying to be clever but in reality looks cheap and a visual eyesore" photography and editing rendering the opening not just confusing but incomprehensible. Unfortunately, this confusion doesn't go away and even increases with the jumpy structure and so many things left incomplete and vague.
On top of being confused, the story is also very erratic in pace. At some points it feels rushed. At other points it's tedious, that would have been improved if some of the content that was unnecessary and there for padding purposes was trimmed or cut. Nothing's fun or interesting and tension and suspense are nowhere in sight, instead it's all those things and a lot of parts, especially the character behaviours, are far-fetched, stupid and illogical. The script is awkward and never rings true, with a lot of ridiculousness and unintentional humour.
Couldn't get invested with any of the characters, because of the lack of development or drama and because they are just so annoying and incapable of rational or intelligent thought, and the direction is barely existent. The acting is really bad at best, the main protagonist tries but the antagonist is too over-the-top and the female lead is cringe-worthy.
It's not just the photography and editing in the opening that looks poor visually. Those elements are not much better throughout, and there is a drab, over-dark look. Standing out too in a not-good way is one of the worst-looking werewolves ever, even for low-budget there is no excuse for anything to look like something that would have looked awful 50 years ago. Audio is over-bearing and ruins any atmosphere by telegraphing it in advance.
To conclude, even for someone judging it for what it is 'Uncaged' was just a complete waste of time. 1/10 Bethany Cox

I made an account just for the reason to say how stupidly dumb this film is, the only good thing about it is the guy in glasses, spoiler it makes no sense at all to how the mother had not killed her son or the father previously and when both friends enter the barn before the main char changes the guy in glasses goes to lock the cage and the other stops him, although the other guy is terrified of the main char for being a killed, why not just lock him in the cage anyways also he killed someone himself I turned it off after that point as the film is utterly retarded and makes no sense, don't waste your time watching this crap

Garbage, probably but I really won't know because they lost me at the opening line. Any movie with an opening line of "she was thirsting for my penis" has nowhere to go but into the crapper. So no, I did not watch the movie. I turned it off right after hearing that line (which was in fact the first line of dialog in the movie).
I don't have high expectations, I'm not expecting another "Twelve Angry Men", I just want to watch a thriller, horror movie that tries to bring something new to the genre. This may be it, but I'll never know because the idiot that decided what the opening scene and dialog would be was too lame to realize that his choice sucked. Some won't care, some might think it's cool, but I was totally turned off. To the people involved in this grade Z production - get your selves sorted out. This is crap.

There is a lot to like about this movie; it uses its limited budget well, the dialogue is great, the acting is solid and it has a unique story. All of these things add up to a decent horror comedy that fans of low budget horror will enjoy.
That being said it is also important to know not to expect some crazy, blood-soaked monster mash as things don't really get going in that department until near the end and are pretty tame, most likely due to budget restrictions. Instead the film is a more personal story, and a good one, it's just that with the title and the poster you might get the wrong idea and be expecting something you aren't going to get (a bit like Gareth Edwards' Monsters). It also has a few problems with pacing and logic, i.e. events occurring without any build up and then forgotten about until convenient, but nothing too off-putting.
This movie demands a lot of attention and has a lot packed into the first hour for the final act to pay off properly, but overall it has enough going for it to give it a shot. It works well as both a comedy and a horror, just know going in that it is a story-heavy movie rather than a mindless gore-fest and you won't be disappointed.

Uncaged is the story of a college boy, forced to lock himself in a cage to protect the world from the beast within. The story follows three friends as they plunge into one wild weekend in the country. It has the classic supernatural metamorphosis element. The protagonist figures out how to use his dark power for good: to rescue a battered wife. The cast gave memorable performances as oddballs characters. It has high production value. The special effects are good. The plot moves with funny jokes. The comic book style animation was a nice touch. It's Teen Wolf meets an R. Kelly video. If you like werewolf pictures, you will like Uncaged.

If you are looking for a movie to put on in the background, this is that movie; it's a good time-waster but will bore most horror fans. If you're looking for a decent horror for some teenagers, especially as their first horror movie. this should do; it's best for older teenagers or you'll have a lot of terms to talk about.
For anyone else, however, this is strictly serviceable. It's not a bad movie, and has some decent ideas, but it just doesn't really explore those ideas. If it had picked a direction and went with it, this movie could have been a decent movie.
As it is, however, it makes a decent movie but really doesn't get more exciting than a TV movie.
