Title is taken from the lyrics of 'Roll On,' a song off Josh Ritter's 2002 album 'Golden Age of Radio' ("West of her there's a place know/Never have been but I'd like to go/Somewhere out there I believe in me/And west of her is where I'd like to see")
Several of the minor roles in the film are portrayed by crew members:
- The two men who change Dan's tire are played by director Ethan Warren and production assistant Devin McDonald.
- The man who stops on the side of the road is played by producer David Brustlin, and the woman in the car is played by make-up artist/costume designer Hillary Fenton.
- The man looking at the tile in the final scene is played by assistant director Mario Scenna.
