Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting’s throwback slasher We Might Hurt Each Other (formerly Pensive) is Now Streaming on our Screambox platform beginning today!

The bloody Lithuanian teen horror film was directed by Jonas Trukanas and stars Gabija Bargailaite (Pilgrims), and calls back to slasher classics like Friday the 13th.

In fact, this is Lithuania’s very first slasher movie!

Inspired by local legends, We Might Hurt Each Other follows a group of privileged high school classmates. After these classmates destroy a set of life-size wooden statues during a wild graduation party, a mysterious masked killer begins picking the group off one by one.

Lionsgate and Saban Films will unleash the alligator horror movie The Flood this summer (watch the trailer here), and the film’s official MPA rating has been handed in this week.

With John Wick: Chapter 4 exploding at the box office and Donnie Yen experience a new wave of popularity in North American, now’s the time to look at another of the movie’s stars who’s been around for a long time but is consistently underrated. Of course, that man is the great Scott Adkins! Those who know him, love him. With over 70 movies to his credit, the man has been in at least one thing everyone has seen, from Doctor Strange to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (as Weapon X), The Pink Panther, and so many more, He has been in something for everyone. For us, the highlights of his career are not necessarily the obvious titles when glancing at his resume.

Admittedly not as good as the first film, The Expendables 2 did bring a few good villains to the screen.

When casting the hottest action stars for John Wick: Chapter 4, Scott Adkins was a natural choice. Director Chad Stahelski has tried to get Adkins into all the John Wick movies, but due to scheduling conflicts it hasn’t worked out until now. Cast as Fat Killa in the new movie, Adkins is almost unrecognizable under the heavy makeup, gold grill, and fat suit. In real life, Adkins is devilishly handsome, so much so he often plays villains. He’s also built like Adonis but even more yoked. It’s a body he’s earned through a lifetime of martial arts practice.

The Exchange has added worldwide rights to EFM action sales title Lights Out starring Frank Grillo, Mekhi Phifer, Scott Adkins and Dermot Mulroney.

Christian Sesma is directing the project from a screenplay by Garry Charles and Chad Law. Production is underway with Brandon Burrows of Firebrand serving as producer.

Lights Out is described as a modern-day Roadhouse meets Kickboxer and takes place in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles. Grillo’s credits include the Captain America and Purge franchises, while Phifer has starred in 8 Mile and the Divergent franchise.

Exclusive: National Geographic has greenlighted Barkskins, a scripted drama series based on the 2016 bestselling novel of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Proulx which traces the story of America’s deforestation. The network has given a 10-episode to the project, which hails from Elwood Reid, Fox 21 Television Studios and Scott Rudin Productions.

Reid created the series and will serve as showrunner. He will executive produce along with Rudin, Eli Bush and Garrett Basch. The series is slated to go into production in 2019 and will premiere on National Geographic globally in 172 countries.

If you’re one of the many, many people who bought and enjoyed Security, the Die Hard-esque actioner starring Antonio Banderas – be prepared for even greater things from Banderas’ latest action flick, Acts of Vengeance.

Why? Well this time round the direction comes from Isaac Florentine – he of Savate, Cold Harvest, Us Seals 2, Undisputed 2 and 3, Ninja, Ninja: Shadow of a Tear and Close Range fame…. Yeah, quite the action-orientated CV right? Florentine is one of those action directors whose films I, personally, will watch sight unseen, knowing that I’m in for a fantastic fight-filled time. If you aren’t versed in the ways of Florentine yet I urge you to rectify that Asap!

The new action film “Kill Ratio” follows American covert operative James Henderson (Tom Hopper) who is on a business conference with his inexperienced colleague, Gabrielle (Amy Huberman) to bring capitalism to a newly democratized Eastern European republic. But soon the city is rocked by explosions and gunfire and it’s up to James and Gabrielle to hide president Tania Petrenko (Lacy Moore) from Colonel Lazar (Nick Dunning), an old guard military man and leader of a coup. Bleiberg Entertainment has virtually sold out worldwide rights here to the Scott Adkins action thriller Savage Dog led by a Us deal with XLrator Media.

The La-based production and sales company has licensed Germany to Spirit/Koch Media, Latin America to California Filmes, Canada to Vvs Films, the Middle East to Eagle Films and Turkey to Sinema, among others.

Only China and Hong Kong remain available on Savage Dog, which recently wrapped production and centres on a disgraced soldier-turned-prizefighter seeking vengeance in a lawless town in 1950s Indochina.

Joining Adkins on the cast are Marko Zaror, Cung Le and Juju Chan. Jesse V. Johnson directs from his own original screenplay.

For my money, Scott Adkins is the greatest Western martial arts actor of modern times. He has an exhilarating acrobatic style, with an emphasis on kicks that seem to defy the laws of gravity.The pairing of Adkins with filmmaker Isaac Florentine has made for some hugely beloved B-action, most notably the Undisputed and Ninja franchises. There are no guarantees in cinema, but one thing you can typically count on is Scott Adkins delivering the ass-kicking goods. Exclusive: Blue Box International closes key territories on Scott Adkins action-thriller.

Blue Box International has closed key territories here on the Scott Adkins action-thriller Close Range, which wrapped production last week.

Bleiberg Entertainment licensed the Us to XLrator Media and Canada to Vvs. Blue Box has closed deals with Latin America (California Filmes), Eastern Europe and Africa (Daro), France (Ab Groupe), Benelux (Dutch Filmworks), Spain (Second Gen Pictures) Turkey (Moviebox), China (Hgc), India (Sgn Mediaworks) and the Middle East (Eagle Films).

Adkins, whose credits include The Expendables 2, Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning, Zero Dark Thirty and the upcoming Criminal, reunites with Isaac Florentine, who previously directed him in the Ninja and Undisputed franchises.

Chad Law and Shane Dax Taylor wrote the screenplay for Close Range. Ehud Bleiberg serves as producer while Adkins and Nicholas Donnermeyer are executive producers.

The company has acquired international sales rights to the romantic dramedy starring Jack Huston, Brit Marling and 2014 Cannes Film Festival master of ceremonies Lambert Wilson.

Lulu Wang’s Berlin-set Posthumous follows an artist who falls for a journalist after he pretends to be dead when mistaken reports of his demise send the vale of his art sky-rocketing.

Tom Schilling and Alexander Fehling also star and the film is in post.

Wang’s partner at Flying Box Productions, Bernadette Bürgi, produces. The German co-producers are Skady Lis of Getaway Pictures, Andro Steinborn of Arden Film, and Frank Evers, Helge Neubronner and Kristian Stern of Cine Plus.

The project is supported by the German Federal Film Fund.
