As in her book, "Jesus and John Wayne", Kobes Du Mez hints at, gives clues, and develops characters in a way non-fiction writers often don't even attempt. The result is a compelling, fact-based story that moves the heart to ache and plead for justice.
Why did I give it a 10 with the heading, "I wish it were...?"
She knew her audience. The people to benefit most from a film like this probably aren't the people who would commit to a docuseries. Clues throughout the film hint at more to come, and I would watch the docuseries. As would my wife and daughter and sons and many friends whose ideas of God and godliness have been corrupted by teachings like those exposed in this film.
I'd love rhe coming docuseries ro include more explanation of how mainstream certain beliefs are held, the connection between these beliefs and voting, the success of those pushing against these beliefs, and...
This is a 10/10 in the hope that it will become a trailer for the "Jesus and John Wayne" docuseries.
