This guy's car breaks down and he is held captive in a house by a girl who says she is from Venus and another guy. It isn't depicted but they have sex. He can't escape because the guy has a remote that shocks him through a collar they put on him.
I won't give away the ending.

Maybe I watched a different movie than all the others cause this was total garbage!! Really poor acting, the story was ridiculus and all the reactions too. I can't believe I spent 80 minutes for this movie. What a waste of time!!

I agree with everybody here - a real good story but I felt like the actors could have done better. Directing was great but I felt like some of the actors didn't give it their all. It could have been way better. Perhaps a part two sometime soon?

This movie is a total snooze. The paper thin plot is completely obvious and goes nowhere fast. Why is this movie getting a good rating? Total waste of time.
I thought the film had it's moments but overall it was done well. The acting could have been better but if you can look past that and note that it's an indie-film it's still a unique and original film and better then a lot of other ones out there.

This was so dull I almost turned it off after 15-20 minutes. But, I thought "maybe this will be really clever and have some interesting developments for the plot and the characters."
Nope, I was totally wrong. The writing was terrible, the direction was uninspired, and every moment that was supposed to have an impact fell completely flat. What a waste of time.

Whoever wrote this script has real talent. Entertaining story but could have had better actors. I'm still going to give this a 9 because it was entertaining but if they had polished it up it would have been way better. Still a watch on the weekend in my book.

OK not a big fan of this fan of this film, first the look of the over exposed film feel of this movie just made it hard to watch, it became to distracting to me and also not sure how it connects to the story. Odd choice in my opinion. The acting was good, no complaints there. I didn't find any visuals interesting. the concept was ok nothing mind blowing and the pay off was ok as well. I left the theater with fatigued eyes and a slight headache.

I did enjoy the main character's performance hence the 3 (could have been worse), other than that the story is pretty hackneyed, and yeah I get that the other characters were supposed to be wooden but hey gimme somethin' here...
Would rather I hadn't sat through the whole thing, honestly.

A facinating film with exceptional visuals and lighting. The film echos Twilight zone with a sci-fi esque plot but seems far more interested in the philosophy and existential ideas beneath it all. A compelling concept with intriguing characters, check it out.
I always like to mention in my reviews that I am a fan of independent films, of which this is.
If you need big Hollywood budgets and well known actors and actresses in order to enjoy a movie, this may not be for you. But for those of you who are interested in something different, this is worth giving a chance.
This movie is of a sci-fi thriller nature. It also has black comedy elements. It's told in non-linear fashion, which is always a plus for me. I hate formula.
It's paced nicely. Moves along well and is a good bit of film making!

A Must-See! This movie is just down-right great. Without huge actors, the acting is awesome. The writing is superb. The directing is fantastic. The budget is low, but it doesn't feel like a low-budget film. Imagine what this director will do with a real budget. It's entertaining, not boring and at times has its light moments.
This should become the pass-the-word movie to see.
The story centers around an English professor who gets a job at UCLA and has heard all kinds of things about "L.A." and isn't sure if the world he enters is some kind of new production company set.
It's sensual and delves into the human relationship. Clever writing. SEE IT! Music is great too.

Stephen David Brooks sits behind the yolk of the shrewdly presented Flytrap, a wonderfully weird science fiction-horror hybrid that utilizes a full understanding of craft to effectively defy the high-budget expectations consumers have been conditioned to expect within blockbuster genres.
Brooks' film tells the tale of an English astronomer who finds himself in that always-weird middle ground between hostage-taking and love-making. Veering slightly more towards science fiction than its horror elements would have you believe, Brooks enters that highly competitive and arguably constipated arena and leaves victorious after displaying all the tools inherent in great indie storytelling: He's kept his volume of characters and shooting locations efficiently minimized, and what remains instead are great actor performances within a cohesiveness of set design that together empower his clever story to be told well.
Flytrap plays on the mind with great effectiveness. It's a mood-shifter film that brings us to a different mental space that the one we first entered with popcorn in hand. Ultimately, it's an engrossing film and no doubt will find serious devotees within its wider audience.

FLYTRAP is a low budget film, no doubt about that, but if you watch this film with that in mind it's really enjoyable! Of course you can't compare every flick out there with Hollywood, but is that needed? And do we even want that? I enjoyed the filmmaker's effort to create a different kind of sci fi film. It is unique and scary at times. Give it a try!

This film has a super-bizarro vibe, which is perfect for the story and works so well. Small in scope, but beautifully executed, flying the flag for really indie films. There's some very effective acting, and overall it's a really impressive piece.
Recommended.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about but it's a pretty good film. A quirky science fiction story. The film was entertaining and well executed. I highly recommend this one!
A great indie film. Love the storyline and the film had me on the edge of my seat right to the very end.
