KK's acting is superb and steals the show. The others are also usually good (with occasional overacting). I had never noticed Tisca Chopra earlier but she does a pretty good job in her limited role. Overall, characterisations are pretty good.
Neat story. So far, I am unable to find a plothole.
Many elements in the movie are portrayed realistically, with minor details like the behaviour of a hotel manager also taken into consideration.
Overall, I liked the execution of the movie, a rare murder mystery from Bollywood. Recommended watch.

Rahasya is a murder mystery loosely inspired by Arushi murder case. The movie is about the murder of a teenager girl and the attempt of a CBI officer to unmask the killer.Their are many positive points about the movie and writing is one of them which is engrossing. Its screenplay is very absorbing.Right from the beginning you begin to guess about the killer among them. The flow is very fluent and the movie is a straight forward one.Their are no unnecessary sub-plots or scenes which regulates the flow of film. The main quality of the film is that it keeps you guessing till the very end.The apex of the movie is superb.1st half is good and intensifies the mystery. The way the suspense builds up is really amazing.2nd half is good although is a bit overstretched.
K.K menon is a very good actor and plays the role brilliantly. He is awesome in the role of a CBI officer and as a husband who cares for his family and can't compromise with his moral ethics. He doesn't takes bribe even when his wife forces her to do so by referring their weak economical condition. His dialog delivery is so simple and riveting. His expressions are brilliant. He is simply a powerhouse of talent.Tisca chopra is good although in some scenes she becomes uneasy.Ashish vidhyarthi was awesome. Its good and soothing experience to see him in such a brilliant role.Rest of the star- cast is also good.
Manish Gupta, with his direction shows how excellent storyteller he is?The ways he proceeds the story while not loosing his grip is truly worth applause. Dialogs of the movie are good and matches consummately with the tone of the movie.Cinematography is good and captures the true Mumbai where the poor and rich peoples live together. The locations of the movie is good and magnifies the tense atmosphere of the movie positively. The length of the movie is short although could have been little more shorter.
If you are a lover of a mystery thriller then you must go for it.It is very rare in bollywood to make such a climatic and vivid thriller which makes you guessing till the end.It is a gripping and riveting film which keeps you hooked.A nice and realistic cinematic experience. I would lovingly rate it 7.4 out of 10.

Rahasya is a one of the underated crime thriller film of Bollywood. I don't understand why the film was a flop at the box office. We want these types of film like 404 Error Not found,Table no 21,Talash and many more. Not like this Race 3,Baaghi 3,Khamoshiyan and many more. The film is a good suspense movie and the performance of many actors are outstanding specially Kay Kay Menon. He was the highlight of this film.He didn't dispointed us.
Overall The film is a Good Suspense Thriller Film.

Simply the best thriller and suspense movie I watched till now. KK Menon Sir, I am your new fan after watching this movie. Great direction, superb acting from all of the cast. The movie is so awesome, it keeps you engaged all the time. I just love the plot, screenplay, story and everything about the movie. I wish the CBI acts in same way as shown in the movie, but unfortunately our CBI is also corrupt and they cant solve a case in the same manner as shown in the movie. Great movie, Awesome Acting. Its sad to see that movie of this kind wont earn much and wont get much fame in India. But third class movies of SRK and Salmaan would earn millions.!

As it is said for the movie, the plot has been inspired by the famous Aarushi murder case from the real past. The adaptation of the base idea has been beautifully executed and characterization is superb. Casting is the solid base and writing takes full marks. When a film maker attempts to show the ugly face of the society of millionaires, its becomes a responsibility to show it in its true color. Director has done a great job in execution and presentation of the movie. And when the audiences know the facts before hand it becomes more tough to make the whole story more interesting and exciting.
It has the power to make you glued till the end.
First half is all being the mysterious one and even the 80% of second half goes on the same mystery path, and at the end it is revealed. But yes, movie doesn't end till the last minute, for the audiences and that's the best thing, for a murder mystery thriller. Its a must watch for all those audiences who really like meaningful and quality cinema.

Rahasya," directed by Manish Gupta, is a Indian thriller that delves into the complexities of a shocking murder case rooted in a seemingly tranquil household. The film draws inspiration from the real-life murder of a young medical student, Arushi Talwar, a case that captivated the nation and still resonates in contemporary discussions about justice and media portrayal of crime.
The film revolves around the murder of an 18-year-old girl, Ayesha Mahajan (Sakshi Sem), in her own home. Her father, Sachin Mahajan (Ashish Vidyarthi), becomes the prime suspect, but CBI officer Sunil Paraskar (Kay Kay Menon) is determined to uncover the truth.
What stands out in "Rahasya" is its multifaceted narrative structure. The film elegantly constructs a layered story that interweaves the main investigation with flashbacks, revealing the secrets and hidden tensions within the family. The screenplay is well-crafted, pulling the audience into the investigation and gradually unfolding various red herrings, keeping viewers guessing until the very end.
Kay Kay Menon delivers a stellar performance as the dedicated CBI officer, his portrayal of a man determined to solve a complex case is both intense and compelling. Ashish Vidyarthi is equally impressive as the distraught father, his character's vulnerability and pain are palpable.
The film's atmosphere is one of constant suspense. The screenplay, while inspired by a real-life tragedy, manages to create a fictional narrative that is both engaging and thought-provoking. The director's skill in building tension is evident throughout the film.
Another highlight is the music, Which complements the film's tone and amplifies the emotions of key scenes. The soundtrack features haunting melodies that resonate with the underlying themes of loss and betrayal. The film's cinematography, effectively creates a tense atmosphere that mirrors the mounting suspense of the story.
Despite its engaging plot and strong performances, "Rahasya" is not without its pitfalls. While the first half of the film is gripping, the climax could have been stronger. Some viewers might find the ending to be predictable or unsatisfying. Nonetheless, the film's exploration of the psychological impact of such a tragedy is commendable.
Overall, "Rahasya" is an enthralling cinematic experience that successfully marries social commentary with the thrills of a murder mystery. It compels the audience to ponder the complexities of human relationships, the impact of societal pressures, and the fragile nature of truth. For those who crave intelligent storytelling filled with suspense, "Rahasya" stands as a note-worthy addition to the genre.

Excellent Triller . This movie reminds me about a true case which happened recently in India .The start case is awesome and Kay Kay Menon has done wonderful job . The producer has provided the audience to think in all directions where until the end of climax come its not clear about who is the prime suspect for the murder. The mystery which is known in the end explains the real story which happened that night in the house of the doctors. The title of the movie is the right name for the thriller and the case which has been plotted which is being portrayed by characters shows relations between high profile societies which are really not visible in real life . Also the story depicts real life situations which can happen to anyone .

Good watch. If you are after a Bollywood thriller, this fits the bill nicely. Great actors all put to great use. Enjoyed the acting, background piano score, the end reveal.
Worth it if you want a classic whodunit! Recommended.

Rahasya is one of the best suspense thriller in recent time.its gripping screenplay and the matching direction keeps you always on the edge of your seat. brilliant performance by Kay Kay and his dialogues added more weightage to his presence。。。 yes being an audience it was my defeat by not guessing the right culprit till the end but i really enjoyed this defeat with a broad smile cause never expected such an extra ordinary climax with a logical reasoning.i must congratulate Mr. Manish Gupta and his team for this brilliant masterpiece and expect the same kind of quality work from him in future. Wish you luck for all future en devours.

Manish Gupta's second whodunit Rahasya is loosely based on Noida double murder Aarushi Talwar case. However, most facts have been de-arranged as the case is still open. This two hour long murder mystery is not an edge of the seat thriller but will surely keep you occupied with new events enfolding every next minute. Rahasya is directed on Agatha Christie theme, where the detective revels the murderer's identity in presence of all the characters. Coming after The Stoneman Murders (another wonderful murder mystery), Rahasya reinforces Manish Gupta as a prolific story teller. Kay Kay Menon never disappoints and presents his character in a classical flair. In spite of a great cast, a great story and a great controversy attached to itself, the movie has few rough edges. Nevertheless, it's a good movie and you will not regret watching it.

What a movie, my god. After so long, found something so special and I am feeling so great about it. In one word, everyone was exceptional. Mind blowing! Solid 10/10!
RAHASYA the film goes as it's title..
Definitely it keeps the audience interested throughout with the type of crime and its suspects going through the movie.
With well known Kay Kay Menon casting in it as Investigation officer he has provided his best.
Also the movie captures the harsh reality of today's generation's broken family with multiple affairs coming into light during the course as the movie goes on.
Viewers will be really impressed if they watch this movie after watching its trailer bcuz of the irony it provides without a single trace in its trailer.
Story is of the bit top types but the only mistake of the director which makes me give it a 7/10 is A CID officer missing his target multiple times with foolishness of not having a weapon in an era where even a police keeps a pistol.
Officer fails again and again in capturing the target, this really doesn't make any sense.

Watching Rahasya made me happy. The movie was a pleasant surprise. No big budget, no songs, no Bollywood gimmicks...still a good movie. The crime thriller has a good cast. It starts slowly and grips you as the plot unfolds. Very well-paced, the one mystery leads to another, much like some of the Korean and Danish thrillers. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. The acting is good, direction is effective and the main plot seems to be inspired by a real incident. Together, they make Rahasaya, an unlike-Bollywood thriller. Good that there was no song and dance numbers. I don't wish to spoil the party by talking about the plot and the well-timed twists. You must relish it on a lazy afternoon. Totally worth it!

Having watched almost every single mystery movie out there already, i was trying to find movies coming from beyond USA and Europe. My experiences with Indian movies were not the best up until then, but i decided to give them a try. I am glad i did. This is a classic murder mystery movie where a CIB officer is trying to figure out who, among many different people, is the murderer.
(CIB is something like the Indian FBI).
The movie starts kind of slow but as soon as the CIB officer moves in, everything changes towards the better.
The twists and turns, and the details discovered by the officer, have a nice rhythm that keeps you focused on the movie. Some fight scenes don't look that impressive but me personally, i am fed up with mystery movies that are 2/3 fights and 1/3 true mystery. The director did a good job too. This movie was not about scenery and it focuses on the main participants.
Finally, the actor who plays the CIB officer, was really good.
I would rate this with an 8, but i see that a lot of the lovely Indian members in here, give it close to 10, so i am just trying to balance the over hyped reviews.
Lastly i would like to say to those people who are having second thoughts about watching movies from India, that besides this movie, i also watched two other movies and they where solid too.
Highly recommended for all those who love murder mystery movies.

Today I watched this movie and hats off to the all caste and crew of this movie. It's gripping from the very first frame and did not waste a single second of it's length. I really enjoyed this movie being a mostly foreign movies watcher and I couldn't understand why this movie got no big stand and exposure. It's a truly suspense thriller of a class.
Kay Kay Menon rocks as usual and he's in his full form. Ashish Vidyarthi also did well and Tisca Chopra done well in her role. In short, every character was excellently written and directed. Manish Gupta really needs a big round of applause for making such underrated icon.
It's a strong suspense movie so I don't want to write anything else... just watch anyhow you can get it. That is all.

It's not just any superficial thriller, the story has depth, is rational, and played so well by kay Kay Menon. It's unpredictable hence keeps the viewer engaged for the whole movie.

Rahasya is a very good thriller, till the last few minutes the real culprit cannot be identified, the story is well written. Chetan who is named right from the start is actually dead & has almost no role more than a minute of screen time. The detective played so well by Kay Kay actually at one time feels he is like a dog trying to catch his own tail. The best & most emotive of all actors was the role played by Ashwini as Remi fernandes. She could outclass even Kay Kay & Tisca. It is time we watch these kinds of movies than the 3 cheap Khans in their dumb movies. Rahasya is a must watch.
KK Menon starrer "Rahasya" is the latest murder mystery I caught up with, but the problem is though I like watching detective movies, but always find it difficult to judge or rate them, maybe more intelligent people can..
This film 'Rahasya' was inspired by the Arushi Murder case, and so much so that the Talwar couple went to courts against its release. It relies heavily on the x-factor of K K Menon who tries to solve the case, and the outcome and treatment is more of Sharadindu Bandopadhyay's Byomkesh Bakshi novel flavour - dark and scandalous.
One immediate comparison which came to my mind is the film "Talvar" itself directed by Meghna Gulzar. I saw that film shortly after Irfan's lost battle against cancer. Though that film took the Talwar couple's side, but somehow I found more soul in that. So Rahasya is still engaging but not as good as Talvar. A 6-6.5 for Rahasya..
