Alfonso, who comes from a wealthy family, is retired and living in the country where he cultivates an organic allotment. The birth of his grandson turn his life around and he decides to instill in the boy a love for manual work. Seven years pass and things are not turning out as he had planned. The film looks at the trend among urbanites for retiring to the country and at environmental ideology, but also at belonging to one's origins, both family and social, which Alfonso is trying to reject by means of a particular struggle.
