The new Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has fans talking, especially after its wild start. The show brings back familiar faces like Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page.
*Spoilers Ahead*
But a major twist in the first episode has left viewers wondering about Karen’s future. Elden Henson’s character, Franklin “Foggy” Nelson—Matt’s best friend and a fan favorite—was killed off, shocking everyone. After that, Karen moves to San Francisco, cutting ties with Matt, her former love interest from the original Netflix series. She didn’t even appear in episode two, making fans ask: will she play a big part in this show?
Showrunner Dario Scardapane recently addressed these concerns. Some called Karen’s role “limited,” but he pushed back on that idea. “Limited presence I would question,” he said. “There are things to be revealed.

If you poll one hundred people and ask their opinions on the Marvel Netflix shows, you’ll likely get one hundred different responses. Each show had different themes and vibes. It makes sense considering each character differed in various ways. And, if we're being honest, the ball was dropped on some of the programs.
As Marvel Studios began pushing to bring their comic book characters “home”, Netflix canceled their Marvel shows. After that, it seemed like we’d seen the last of Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Finn Jones. Thanks to a report from Entertainment Weekly, they could become part of the MCU like Charlie Cox's Daredevil.
Marvel's head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum said, "we are very much exploring" bringing back Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Finn Jones' Iron Fist/Danny Rand to the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

We've said it many times before, but allow me to say it again: Anything can happen in the MCU. Marvel Studios is no stranger to making the impossible come to fruition. Remember, this is the same studio that brought together characters of 20+ movies for Avengers: Endgame and now it looks to do the same for characters from across the whole multiverse in the next two Avengers movies.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a breeding ground for potential and, more often than not, it realizes that potential, whether that's in big-budget action movies or in innovative Disney Plus shows that think outside the box. Quite simply, Marvel Studios has all the potential in the world (or multiverse) to make magic happen, and now it sounds like it plans on doing the same again.

With “Daredevil: Born Again” now streaming on Disney+, picking up the story of Netflix’s “Daredevil” almost seven years later, you might find yourself wanting to check out other corners of the Marvel world, as Netflix envisioned them. And, like the MCU, there is a correct order to do that in.
For the record, we’d say that you don’t have to watch “Daredevil” in order to understand “Born Again” (here’s why). But we definitely think you should, at least if you’re interested in Marvel’s no-kill superhero.
From there, you can meet his friends, who are introduced in the other Netflix Marvel shows. But there are a few ways you can go about it.

It’s been a long wait, but Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock is finally front and center in his own series again with “Daredevil: Born Again.” After three seasons leading the formerly-of-Netflix series “Daredevil” (as well as one season of “The Defenders” and a few MCU drop-ins), Cox and Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio are back for the Disney+ series.
A new streaming home also means a new release schedule, and while “Daredevil” diehards may be used to a 13-hour binge-watch, “Born Again” will roll out episodes weekly — with just nine episodes — from the premiere on March 4 to the finale on April 15.
While we can’t help with the jonesing for new episodes for those accustomed to the “Daredevil” binge-watch, we can make sure you never miss a new installment when it drops. Here is everything to know about the full “Daredevil: Born Again” episode release schedule.

Daredevil: Born Again‘s Michael Gandolfini is the bridge that oddly connects the world of The Man Without Fear and Tony Soprano. The connection between the two might be a little convoluted, but it is an interesting twist of faith nonetheless.

Robert Iler is known for his work in The Sopranos, essaying the role of A.J. This has now come (sort of) full circle, with James Gandolfini’s actual son (who has also played Tony Soprano), Michael Gandolfini starring in Daredevil: Born Again.

The wait for more “Daredevil” is really, truly almost over. It has been more than six years since Season 3 of the original series dropped on Netflix, and unbeknownst to fans of the hit, acclaimed series, those 13 episodes would spell the end for the beloved character’s TV run when Netflix pulled the plug soon after. Until now.
With “Daredevil: Born Again,” Charlie Cox returns as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, alongside fellow returning castmates Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, Jon Bernthal and Ayelet Zurer. Heck, they even got Susan Varon back as Josie.
But if you’re here, you probably know all that and are anxiously waiting for new episodes to drop — so here’s everything to know about exactly what time you can watch the “Daredevil: Born Again” premiere on Disney+.

"Invincible" has the most star-studded voice cast you're likely to find anywhere on an American animated TV show. From its leading trio of Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons to supporting stars like Gillian Jacobs, Walton Goggins, Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, and others, it's hard to keep track of the many award-winning performers who've lent their vocal talents to the Amazon series. Perhaps that's why many viewers didn't notice that Mahershala Ali was recast for the show's third season, with Todd Williams taking over the role of Titan.
In fairness, Titan was entirely absent from "Invincible" season 2, leaving a few years for fans to forget his exact voice. And to his credit, Williams does a great job with the character in season 3. A sympathetic henchman and occasional vigilante early on, Titan is kind of a blend of Marvel's The Thing and Luke Cage. He sets himself up as...

Luke Cage and Iron Fist are perhaps one of the most iconic duos in the Marvel Universe. Appearing in a slew of versions of the Marvel Universe, Heroes for Hire is an important part of the superhero community in Marvel Comics, but it also allowed the early versions of the character to talk about race in a nuanced manner, the kind that is not always the case with other Black heroes.

Luke Cage’s initial run in the comics had him run under the title, which was Hero for Hire, which then changed to Power Man, which then changed to Power Man and Iron Fist. The latest of these completely changed how Power Man approached the concept of race in a comic book, something that was a novel idea in the industry.

While Marvel Studios has been credited with delivering some of the most epic superhero pieces to Hollywood, it has also been criticized for making some really terrible decisions – some of which have already backfired and some of which fans are expecting to do so real soon. Unfortunately enough, Daredevil: Born Again has been a victim of it as well.

For one, one of the creative decisions taken by them includes getting rid of a really epic character in the early stages of his introduction in the television-verse. But fans feel this decision was nothing short of a fumble on their hands, for the character was one who could have gone on to become the best villain after Kingpin in Matt Murdock’s universe: Cottonmouth.

Though we had been led to believe that Netflix's Marvel shows were no longer considered canon when Marvel Studios announced brand-new MCU content would be developed for the Disney+ streaming service, things clearly changed after Matt Murdock's (Charlie Cox) brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) later returned for a memorable role in the Echo series, and Daredevil: Born Again will essentially serve as a fourth season of Netflix's original Dd show.
It also sounds as if there could be plans in place for the Man Without Fear's fellow Defenders.
While speaking to EW in a recent interview, Marvel's head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum hinted that it may only be a matter of time before we see Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Finn Jones' Iron Fist/Danny Rand in the MCU.

Netflix’s Defenders saga was an unexpected hit thanks to its unique roaster of underdog superhero characters and enticing storylines that delivered just the right amount of punch, kick-ass action, and emotional gravity. So it was a pleasant surprise when the saga was officially included in the MCU timeline and Daredevil: Born Again was kicked off featuring the iconic characters.

Jon Favreau's 2008 film "Iron Man" kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a multimedia superhero property that would remain dominant in the pop consciousness for over a decade. Initially, "Iron Man" and Louis Leterrier's own 2008 MCU movie "The Incredible Hulk" (which finally got a sequel of sorts in 2025) were meant to be mere stand-alone superhero sories, only including references to the Avengers as a cute wink to fans. But when Disney purchased the Marvel library in 2009, a grander plan was put in motion, laying out multiple films at once, each one introducing a new character. Eventually, all the superhero characters teamed up in 2012's "The Avengers," which was essentially the cinematic version of a TV season finale. That structure held fast through to "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019, the 22nd film in the franchise, and one that featured many, many superheroes.

Since WandaVision aired in 2021, Marvel Studios has produced no less than 11 original TV series for Disney+, and while some have been hits, there's a sense that it's all a bit too much. Bob Iger, the CEO of Marvel's parent company Disney, admitted that they had "diluted" the audience's attention with so much content, hinting that they'd be more selective in the future.
The future is here. Deadline reports that Marvel has paused development on three shows: Nova, Strange Academy and Terror, Inc. It doesn't mean that these shows will never see the light of day, but as Deadline puts it, the company has "shifted its priorities at the moment."
It sounds like that shift is pretty significant. Back when Marvel Studios started making TV series for Disney+, it handled them more or less like it did movies: it announced a slate, and that's what we eventually got. But now, Deadline...

Could the return of Daredevil lead to a revival of The Defenders? Marvel and Disney seem to think so!
Fans of Disney+ and Marvel are eagerly awaiting the debut of Daredevil: Born Again. The new Disney+ series is a sequel to the Netflix show with Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer whose special abilities allow him to be the costumed crime fighter Daredevil.
The show brings back the rest of the cast, notably Vincent D'onofrio as Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin. It will also have Jon Bernthal reprise his role as Frank Castle, better known as the brutal vigilante the Punisher, who he played in a Netflix spinoff.
With fans happy to see Daredevil back, there's a question if the other Marvel Netflix series could return. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel's head of streaming, television, and animation, Brad Winderbaum, confirmed, "We are very much exploring" that possibility.

Despite the mixed response Captain America: Brave New World has been getting this past week, and persistent rumblings online about so-called 'superhero fatigue', the Marvel Cinematic Universe still has plenty of lovers. With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil officially returning in Daredevil: Born Again, fans have been wondering if the rest of The Defenders could also make a comeback. Now, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, has provided an update on the potential return of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Winderbaum revealed that Marvel is actively looking into bringing back these fan-favorite characters.
“I can’t say much, but I’ll tell you that it’s so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox,” Winderbaum said. “Obviously, we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book. If you can draw it, you can do it.”
He elaborated further, explaining the challenges of bringing these characters back into the fold.

As Marvel Studios expands its cinematic universe, characters remanded to the shadows continue to emerge for new adventures. March 4th marks the return of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock for the mature-rated Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, bringing blood and violence to the MCU. While Daredevil is primed and ready for a comeback, other members of The Defenders – Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – could return for more superhero drama.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, said Marvel is “exploring” options to bring the trio mentioned above back for more hard-hitting action. “I can’t say much, but I’ll tell you that it’s so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox,” Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly. “Obviously we...

Marvel Studios’ streaming and TV boss Brad Winderbaum revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that bringing back Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist/Danny Rand is something the studio is “very much exploring.” All three actors headlined their own Marvel series on Netflix along with Charlie Cox’s “Daredevil.” The foursome also teamed up in the “The Defenders” series. With Cox’s Daredevil now making the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and headlining his own Disney+ series, fans are hoping the same will be true for his former Netflix co-stars.

The Daredevil universe just can’t stay quiet, can it? Fresh off the chaos of Born Again, the MCU might have another ace up its sleeve — Elektra. And not just any Elektra, but Elodie Yung’s razor-sharp, fan-favorite assassin. While nothing’s set in stone (yet), the hints are there.

Marvel’s bigwigs are playing it cool, throwing out lines like, “Eventually we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that.” Translation: They’re cooking something. And if Elektra is back, you know it won’t be a warm, fuzzy reunion.

There have been persistent rumors that Daredevil's fellow Defenders will eventually follow the Man Without Fear into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it sounds like there are indeed tentative plans in place to (re)introduce at least some of the other heroes from Netflix's now defunct Marvel shows.

Every Marvel fan who worried that a Disney+ "Daredevil" series would never be able to compete with the reams of violence, gore, and sex depicted liberally throughout the Netflix show, fear no more. The trailer recently dropped for Matt Murdock's (Charlie Cox) crime-fighting vigilante would've seemed to put any such concerns to rest, but we now have it on good authority that not even the family-friendly confines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will tone down the grittiness of our favorite street-level superhero. Thanks to some eagle-eyed observers from the UK who spotted the official rating on Disney+ (via ComicBookMovie), it appears that "Daredevil: Born Again" will actually represent the highest age rating of any Marvel Studios project to date.
"Daredevil: Born Again" has reportedly earned a rating of 18+ in the UK, which means it's intended only for adults and roughly translates to a typical TV-ma/R rating for those of us who reside Stateside.

Netflix canceled ‘Daredevil’ despite the success of its third season because the streaming giant decided to end its partnership with Marvel. This was part of a larger shift, as Disney (Marvel’s parent company) was preparing to launch its own streaming service, Disney+, and wanted control of its Marvel content.
Though ‘Daredevil’ was the most popular Marvel/Netflix show, the decision seemed to be part of Netflix’s move to phase out Marvel projects entirely, including ‘Luke Cage,’ ‘Iron Fist,’ and eventually ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘The Punisher.’
Daredevil got a second chance with the revival ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and after the creative reboot that the show underwent, its tone is more similar to the original show than ever.
Still, the ‘Born Again’ showrunner Dario Scardapane revealed that not all was good when it comes to the original show, and despite trying to follow it faithfully some changes had to be...

When Daredevil: Born Again was first announced, it was hyped up as an 18-episode series. That's since been split into two 9-episode seasons, with production on season 2 set to begin before the first batch of episodes premiere on Disney+.
There's already been a great deal of chatter online about potential season 3 plans, meaning the show would match the number of seasons Charlie Cox's Man Without Fear appeared in on Netflix.
Setting expectations in check is scooper Daniel Richtman who has claimed today that Daredevil: Born Again season 3 has not yet been greenlit. Unsurprisingly, it sounds like a final decision hinges on how well the first and second seasons perform on the streamer.
Richtman has also said, "Season 2 will feature surprise cameos." He doesn't have details on who those will be, though Elodie Yung's Elektra, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones must be among the most likely candidates.

Deadline announced today that Ridley will adapt Asimov’s 1954 sci-fi novel Caves of Steel, otherwise known as the first installment of the prolific author’s Robots series. Joining Ridley to help create a draft of the script is Marvel’s Luke Cage alum Cheo Hadari Coker.

Exclusive: John Ridley, the Oscar winner behind 12 Years a Slave, is developing a feature take on Isaac Asimov’s 1954 sci-fi novel The Caves of Steel for 20th Century Studios, Deadline can reveal.
Ridley plans to direct Caves of Steel, having written the most recent draft of the script with Cheo Hodari Coker, the multi-hyphenate best known for creating Marvel’s recent Luke Cage series.
A landmark work of science fiction, which is the first in Asimov’s Robot series, The Caves of Steel introduces readers to a future Earth where humanity has retreated into vast, domed cities — known as the “Caves of Steel” — to escape the harshness of the outside world. The story follows Elijah Baley, a New York City detective who is reluctantly partnered with R. Daneel Olivaw, a humanoid robot, to solve the high-profile murder of a “Spacer” scientist. As Baley navigates the investigation, tensions arise between Earth’s overcrowded, robot-wary society and the more advanced Spacer civilizations, which embrace robotic integration.
Previously, BBC adapted the novel for television, with radio and game adaptations also emerging. Sources said Ridley’s film may also take inspiration from The Caves of Steel‘s sequels, The Naked Sun and The Robots of Dawn.
For Asimov, the Robot series captured a longtime interest in artificial intelligence, which produced his influential “Three Laws of Robotics.” Introduced in his 1942 short story “Runaround,” these laws have become a framework for discussing AI ethics and the challenges of programming intelligent systems to interact safely and effectively with humans.
Asimov’s “Three Laws” are discussed in I, Robot, the 2004 film starring Will Smith, which took inspiration (and its name) from the Russian-born author’s collection of short stories, published in 1950. One of the most prolific and influential writers in the history of science fiction, Asimov is also well known for his Foundation series, exploring the rise and fall of civilizations across a galactic empire, which inspired the Apple series, heading into its third season. Notably, he also co-wrote 1992’s The Positronic Man, which was adapted into the 1999 film Bicentennial Man starring Robin Williams.
Ridley won an Oscar for writing Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, earning three Emmy nominations for his work on American Crime, the anthology he created for ABC. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and produced Shirley, a biopic of the United States’ first Black congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm, for Netflix, which starred Academy Award winner Regina King. As a director, his other credits include series like Five Days at Memorial, Godfather of Harlem, Guerrilla and Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992, as well as 2013’s Jimi: All Is by My Side. Ridley is also known for his work with DC Comics including “The Other History of the DC Universe,” “Gcpd: The Blue Wall,” and the recently released “Justice League: The Atom Project #1.”
Most recently writing on and co-producing Paris Barclay’s doc Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee of the same name, Coker has also worked on films like Notorious and Creed II, along with Southland, Ray Donovan and other series.
Ridley is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Rohner Walerstein; Coker by CAA and Literate Management/Production.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Trailer Easter Egg You Probably Missed Teases Possible Luke Cage Connection!
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ yesterday released its first trailer. The teaser trailer has revealed some interesting plot points and characters that we can expect in the upcoming first season. Muse will be the villain in the series. White Tiger will also make an appearance confirming the speculation that started with set leaks, and Bullseye will start the season in jail.
It appears that Matt Murdock and Kingpin will have some kind of an understanding but it will presumably fall through. The show connects to Ms. Marvel surprisingly by showcasing Yusuf Khan, the father of Kamala Khan. We can also see that Matt and Frank are reunited – also something that set footage has already confirmed.
While we are bracing for what appears to be a rather dark and twisted continuation to the Netflix series, some easter eggs spotted in the trailer might hint at some further connections to the Defenders Saga that previously aired on Netflix.

While we are bracing for what appears to be a rather dark and twisted continuation to the Netflix series, some easter eggs spotted in the trailer might hint at some further connections to the Defenders Saga that previously aired on Netflix.

Marvel Studios released the first official trailer for Daredevil: Born Again earlier today, and in addition to bringing us up to speed on the Man Without Fear and his various allies and enemies, the teaser included the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first direct nod to Luke Cage.
Along with fellow Netflix Marvel series' Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Punisher, Defenders and the original Daredevil, Luke Cage was technically set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the time of its release, but we'd later learn that Kevin Feige was never fully on board with integrating these projects into the MCU proper, and the advent of Marvel Television and the Disney+ streaming service suggested that the shows were not officially part of the main 616 Universe - or so we thought.
Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) eventually appeared in MCU film and TV projects, with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) set to debut in Born Again.

Marvel might have just confirmed the return of another Defenders Saga hero thanks to the appearance of a key New York City location in the first MCU trailer for Daredevil: Born Again. Charlie Cox has already returned as Matt Murdock's Daredevil, but the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again brings him back to his grounded roots. After Netflix's Defenders Saga was confirmed to be canon to the MCU in early 2024, there has been speculation about who might return alongside the Man Without Fear, and Born Again's trailer might have provided some clearer insight.
Daredevil: Born Again's trailer gave viewers a better look at several returning Defenders Saga characters, including Matt Murdock, Wilson Fisk, Benjamin Poindexter, Frank Castle, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson and more. The fact that Born Again is continuing the story of the original Daredevil series after its creative overhaul is very exciting, but there...

I would love to see Finn Jones return to the MCU as Danny Rand, who first appeared in Netflix's Iron Fist, but Marvel needs to make him a much stronger hero. Previously known for roles in Game of Thrones and The Sarah Jane Adventures, Finn Jones became known to Marvel fans as Danny Rand in Netflix's Iron Fist series, part of the Defenders Saga. Out of the six shows comprising the Defenders Saga, however, Iron Fist is widely regarded to be the weakest link, which makes me concerned for the Iron Fist's future in the MCU.
In early 2024, Netflix's Defenders Saga was confirmed to be canon to the MCU and integrated into the McU's official timeline on Disney+. This makes me think that Finn Jones' Danny Rand is now an official part of the MCU, though neither Marvel Studios nor Jones himself have revealed whether this is the case.

Over the past half-decade, Marvel Studios has attempted to perfect its television arm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It started extremely strong with 2021's WandaVision, which kicked off the franchise's Disney Plus era on an Emmy-nominated high. There have been multiple successes since then, but it hasn't been smooth-sailing for the MCU as a number of the shows have either underperformed or received a mixed response from audiences. But with the likes of Agatha All Along, Loki season 2, and Echo receiving strong responses, things are back on track.
Marvel characters have been headlining TV shows for years before the official MCU shows arrived on our screens. That much was clear from Netflix's shared universe of Marvel heroes, one of whom has now made the jump to the MCU with his own revival series Daredevil: Born Again. It's one of the most hotly-anticipated installments of the franchise's upcoming titles as...

Marvel has created numerous odd relationships throughout comics, but one such implied pairing, Wolverine and Squirrel Girl, was so bizarre that Marvel tried extremely hard to get fans to forget it. That is, until the game Marvel Rivals brought the pairing back. The X-Men’s Wolverine has had his fair share of superhero romances, and Squirrel Girl may just be his most questionable.
In New Avengers #7 – written by Brian Michael Bendis, with art by Steve McNiven – Wolverine encounters Squirrel Girl while she's babysitting for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, and the two share an uneasy interaction, recalling they had agreed to never see each other again. Marvel later tried to retcon this implied relationship, saying Wolverine had taken Squirrel Girl’s cab, but Logan and Squirrel Girl’s exchange implied much more than a stolen taxi.
Despite Marvel's efforts to backtrack, Squirrel Girl revived the forgotten relationship in Marvel Rivals with the ine,...

I'm very hopeful that another Defenders Saga will be returning to the MCU after a six-year hiatus because of a new Daredevil: Born Again update. I was thrilled when Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that a new Daredevil series would be developed for the MCU following the cancelation of the original Netflix show that released as part of Marvel Television's Defenders Saga. I'm so excited to see iconic Defenders Saga characters back in action in Daredevil: Born Again, including Daredevil, Kingpin, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, the Punisher and Bullseye, among others, but I want more.
Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, reintroducing us to the gritty street-level adventures of Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. The Defenders Saga being made MCU canon in early-2024 means the other Netflix heroes may also make appearances soon, but no others have yet been confirmed to be returning. Luckily,...
