Location sound mixer Mark Gullickson had the idea for actor Brett Bower to never blink. His character does not blink at all through the film. With Brett also directing and editing, he was able to time an occasional blink during a line from his co-lead Adam Hampton in which Brett knew Adam's coverage would be used and that his angle behind bars would not make it in the final edit during those brief blinks.
