Bleecker Street’s psychological thriller Slingshot has debuted its official trailer this afternoon, giving us a peek at psychological terror and even a nasty bit of body horror in outer space.
Slingshot will release in theaters nationwide August 30, 2024.
Watch the official trailer below.
Casey Affleck and Laurence Fishburne star alongside Emily Beecham, Tomer Capone, and David Morrissey (“The Walking Dead”).
The film is directed by Mikael Håfström and written by R. Scott Adams (Donner Pass) and Nathan Parker.
“Slingshot follows an elite trio of astronauts aboard a years-long, possibly compromised mission to Saturn’s moon Titan. Ed Sheeran is back this year with “Subtract,” which is said to be the last album from his mathematical album series. It debuted in the top two of the Billboard 200, and features a softer, more acoustic sound from Sheeran, similar to his first album, “Plus.” With “Subtract,” Sheeran will compete in the current Grammy cycle, after a couple of rocky years with the recording academy. However, “Subtract” could be Sheeran’s way back to the Grammy stage.
SEEEd Sheeran ‘Subtract’ reviews: Is new album a return to form for British singer-songwriter?
It seems like the Grammys have been moving away from Sheeran. In 2017 many expected him to clean up in the nominations for his highly successful album “Divide,” featuring the blockbuster hit “Shape of You.” Instead, Sheeran was snubbed in the general field and relegated to pop, where he won his only two nominations: Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Shape.

Country singer Morgan Wallen remains an unmovable object on the Billboard 200, holding the number-one spot for the 10th week in a row with his latest album “One Thing at a Time.” The 36-track collection achieved 141,000 equivalent album units based on its combined album sales, individual track sales, and online streams — that’s actually up two-percent from last week. Read all about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
Hitting double digits is historic for Wallen, who becomes the first solo male artist to achieve 10 weeks at number-one with back-to-back albums. His previous album, “Dangerous” — which is still at number-five this week, mind you — also spent its first 10 weeks in the top spot. Only four other acts in general have achieve 10 or more weeks with consecutive releases: The Kingston Trio, The Monkees, Whitney Houston, and Adele.

It’s been a tumultuous week for Ed Sheeran, but undoubtedly a good one. He won a copyright lawsuit that alleged he copied his Grammy-winning “Thinking Out Loud” from Marvin Gaye‘s classic “Let’s Get It On”; a loss there would have been ironic since “Thinking Out Loud” is the composition he won the top songwriting Grammy for. Shortly after the trial ended he dropped his coincidentally scheduled new album “Subtract.” What do critics think of his latest collection?

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s relationship had a somewhat tumultuous ending that caught many fans by surprise. Stewart, who was deeply wounded by the split, found her heartache resurfacing sometime after her break-up with Pattinson. But it did so in an unexpected way.
Robert Pattinson once shared that the ‘cheating’ wasn’t the hardest part of his break-up with Kristen Stewart Kristen Stewart | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Pattinson and Stewart were once involved in a very high-profile relationship they forged during their time on Twilight. The two stars played coy about the status of their relationship for a while, if only because celebrity relationships were uncharted territory for them.
“When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by,” she once told Vogue. “So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it.

Ed Sheeran announced on March 1 that he’d be releasing a new album, “Subtract,” on May 5, and just three weeks after that announcement (and more than a month before its release), the album has already climbed into the top 10 in our Grammy odds for Album of the Year based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users. Check out or latest odds here, and make or update your own predictions here in our predictions center as the season progresses.
Sheeran is already a four-time Grammy winner, including a Song of the Year victory for his love ballad “Thinking Out Loud.” He also has three past noms for Album of the Year. The first was in 2014 as a featured artist on Taylor Swift‘s “Red”; they lost to “Random Access Memories” by Daft Punk. The second time was in 2015 for an album of his own, “Multiply”; “Morning Phase” by Beck ended up taking the prize.

We all love pop music, don’t we? The genre has been bursting with exciting new sounds lately, thanks to the success of established artists like Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, as well as the newer sounds brought to the mainstream by people like Bad Bunny and Doja Cat. Indeed, pop is alive and well in 2022, so let’s see which stars will have enough power to take home one, two, or maybe even three AMAs when the time comes this weekend on November 20 when awards are handed out.

Kristen Stewart just completed her 2022 goal: marking her feature directorial debut.
The long-gestating adaptation of Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir “The Chronology of Water” is co-written by Stewart and Andy Mingo, who has been attached to direct the film since 2018. Imogen Poots will lead the film. Representatives for Poots confirmed the casting to IndieWire.
“Lidia’s memoir honors corporeal experience, radically,” Stewart said in a press statement, as first shared by Deadline. “To make that experience physical feels vital to me and what this impulse means…is that it absolutely must be a film.”
The “Spencer” Oscar nominee continued, “This project has been cooking for five years with the help of Scott Free, whom I could not be more privileged to have as partners and friends. Imogen Poots will carry this movie and the staggering weight of Lidia’s life. She can hold it. I am beyond lucky to have her.

Kristen Stewart To Direct Scott Free’s Adaptation Of ‘The Chronology Of Water’ Starring Imogen Poots
Exclusive: After making her short-film directorial debut with Scott Free, Kristen Stewart is set to reunite with the banner for her feature directorial debut as she is set to direct The Chronology of Water, with Imogen Poots set to star. Stewart also will co-adapt the script with Andy Mingo, which is based on the memoir by Lidia Yuknavitch.
A Reader’s Choice Award winner at the 2012 Oregon Book Awards and finalist for the Pen Center USA Creative Nonfiction Award, the memoir is a lyrical journey through a life saved by art. A young woman finds her voice through the written word and her salvation as a swimmer – ultimately becoming a triumphant teacher, mother and a singular modern writer. A survivor’s story and a sexually abrasive and honest coming of age, the film is a physical memory wash of Yuknavitch’s inner life.

Scroll down to see which high-profile artists, albums, and songs missed the cut in this year’s big four categories.

These past 12 months have given us great pop albums. Massive comebacks have been at the forefront with new releases from artists like Adele and Harry Styles, and we’ve also seen more pop artists find success with critics as well as on the charts. As such, it’s time to dive into the most popular albums with chances at Grammy nominations (and a win) for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Some albums are close to locks. Adele’s “30” is an obvious frontrunner due to how much voters love her (she hasn’t lost a Grammy race in years), and how big the album was in its first few months. Likewise, Styles will probably get his second nomination in this category for his record “Harry’s House,” which netted career-best numbers for him. Adele is the more traditional pick, whereas...

Take a look at Oscar-nominated actress Kristen Stewart in the new feature "Spencer", focusing on one weekend in the life of 'Princess Diana', directed by Pablo Larraín:
"...in 1991, 'Diana' spends Christmas holidays with the royal family at their 'Sandringham' estate in Norfolk, when she decides to end her marriage to 'Prince Charles'..."
"Their marriage has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be different..."
Stewart is noted for playing 'Bella Swan' in "The Twilight Saga" film series (2008–2012), which grossed over $3.3 billion box office worldwide.
She followed this success with the features "Snow White and the Huntsman" (2012), "Camp X-Ray" (2014), "Still Alice" (2014), "Sils Maria" (2015) "Equals" (2015), "Personal Shopper" (2016), "Charlie's Angels" (2019) and "Underwater" (2020).

Ed Sheeran performed live on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2021, which were held live in Budapest, Hungary, after going virtual last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nominated for five awards - best artist, best pop, best UK & Ireland act, best song, and best video (both of which are for his single "Bad Habits") - the singer-song-writer performed his latest single, "Overpass Graffiti," at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna.

Ed Sheeran fans had to wait four years for his upcoming fourth studio album, Equals, which is set to drop on Oct. 29, but his fifth album could be here way sooner than we think. "It's more a question of stopping him putting another record out the week after this one," Camp told The Sun. "Ed writes so many songs, and he wants to get them out, he doesn't want them just sitting on his hard drive." Umm, neither do we! In the meantime, we can watch and rewatch Sheeran's NPR Tiny Desk Concert, where he performed a few tracks off his forthcoming LP, including "Shivers" and "Bad Habits." The Equals album is available for preorder now.
