Naughty or Nice (2024) is a movie I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a young man juggling a stripper girlfriend and an overbearing, protective mother, with his two worlds carefully kept apart-until Christmas. What could possibly go wrong?
Directed by Rock White (Low Key Hustle), the film stars A. D. Scott (Knee Deep), Chanté Small (Tricks), Cory Espie (Knee Deep), Brandon Christle (Jerico), and LaToyia Brown (Homeboys).
This movie embodies the classic Tubi original vibe. The drama, acting, and writing are over-the-top, unpolished, and exactly what you'd expect from this type of film. The mother is completely over-the-top, while the uncle provides some genuinely hilarious moments. The dialogue features some trash talk that's surprisingly funny, and the soundtrack stands out as perhaps the best part of the film. The plot is predictable but still held my attention enough to see how things would unfold. Unfortunately, the ending is just as predictable as the rest of the movie.
In conclusion, Naughty or Nice is a low-budget, over-the-top film that does the best it can with its limited resources. I'd score it a 4/10 and recommend skipping it.
