Right, well I was under the impression that the 2024 Thai movie "Anong" (aka "My Boo") was a horror comedy, and thus I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch it.
However, it turned out that director Komgrit Triwimol delivered a romance movie between a living boy and a dead girl. Yeah, not exactly a horror comedy, especially since the movie was frightfully devoid of anything funny. Sure, the movie was watchable, but I had expected quite something else than what it turned out to be.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, aside from actor Chaleumpol Tikumpornteerawong, but I will say that the acting performances were good. And I do enjoy watching unfamiliar talents on the screen.
Visually, then "Anong" was an okay movie. It wasn't heavy on special effects, nor overly reliant on the special effects to carry the narrative. But the effects were adequate and helped bring the ghostly characters to life on the screen. But I've seen better effects in other Thai ghost movies.
Watchable for what it was, but this was hardly an outstanding Thai movie. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.
My rating of director Komgrit Triwimol's 2024 supernatural romance lands on a five out of ten stars.

The moive is about the guy fulling in love with their ancestors ghost. The plot is very simple and kinda confused what is actually the ending part it has like 2 or 3 emotional scene but dont actually end there.
There is a creditor who i thought it was a main antagonist and it will end like the protagonist doesn't know aboth hidden interest or something in contact but he just pay it all and the Debt story just end there.
Another is a conflict with ghost gf is that she a ghost and he cannot touch her, i don't know why they just accept and then process to act like yeah we can live like this. Like elemental by Pixar has same story like this and then make story go on to slove this. But this movie is build different. It make me when i watching this thing is not a movie at all everything that build up is just there no finish or final drama.
And everything isn't make sense like. Main characters is a streamer in start and loan a money after inheritance that he doesn't receive to anything buying a new pc setup. This was to build a stroy for later but it just end at half of the movie.
The ending part is just so peak not gonna lie ( not the dancing ). Very cleavers writing a sudden shash without warning plus the past story of Anong scene it just make ending confused why do they put it in there idk. But overall the ending it just so bizarre that make audience can't predict it. It not carry the whole movie btw just another Thai romance comedy with Traditional Thai CGI and character design.

Found this movie to an enjoyable watch , Story moved right along , Main leads chemistry was believable, you don't see that too much these days .
Setting an atmosphere really draw viewers into story .
I enjoyed this movie and recommend it if your in the mode for a good love story .
CGI was just enough to tell the story.
If you don't mind subtitles give this movie a try.
Nice to get an insight into Thai culture and atmosphere helped in that department.
Overall a nice ghost/romance story and pacing that keeps you interest through out whole movie .
Backstory's of character were short and helped viewers to understand the characters better .

After I watched "my boo" I really liked the movie. The movie is cute and funny. It made me smile with it. One interesting point in this movie is that there is a young man named Joe. Fell in love with a ghost named Anong The pair met in a house along with Thongyip and Thonggon. When Joe met the three, he had the idea of opening a haunted house in this place so that he could have a lucrative business. And took all three to be reborn as Joe had promised. I can't tell if he will succeed. But I want you to go see it, it's the best. It's really fun. I love the romance of this movie. And at the same time there were sad scenes that made me cry.

I watched this together with my whole family and my dad who doesn't get easily interested on anything -let alone a movie- really sat with us to watch the entire film and laughed hard during the possession part. It is such an entertaining film that is good for all ages. The ending wasn't hanging. It really explained and told us what happened; didn't leave us hanging with minds full of questions. I'm glad it didn't leave a bitter taste on us. We all truly enjoyed the film, not to mention the main leads' face card are ON TOP! I think this is literally the only thai movie that has a very good chemistry on par to that of Mario Maurer's Crazy Little Thing Called Love movie. I wish to see more of the Main Leads in more good films in the future. Of course, the writing and the directing matters more than just the faces. Hope we get more good movies like this.
