I've never understood the "my courtroom" attitude, condescension and disdain some/most of these tv judges exhibit...as though their job is a favor to the litigant. I don't generally take issue with her rulings; I DO find her to be rude, dramatic, condescending, patronizing.. I can go on. The courtroom is dramatic itself without the extras...maybe it's necessary for ratings, but Mathis is even MORE dramatic, entertaining and loads more respectful doing it. You leave with your dignity in tact .. unless you try to play him. Then you leave in pieces. Sis can learn from a brotha. I think she's the one who says purpose of court is to make you whole or restore you to wholeness or some such. You don't do that awarding damages but damaging individuals in the process.
Today I finally decided to stop watching her. She continually listens to someone explaining something and then when she is ready to rule, she exclaims that she doesn't understand. It is usually something that everyone has heard of in today's society, but she seems to live in a box. Then yesterday she criticized one parent for not bringing her child to testify because then she, Judge Karen, didn't know for sure what happened. The next case brought her child in order to testify and she rolled her eyes and acted like that was terrible parenting to bring the child! She almost never rules. No one ever gets justice. She always finds a reason to pass and dismiss the case for stupid reasons. I would never in a million years go to her for any justice. Some say it is all fake. I don't know if it is or not, but she looks mighty stupid no matter how real it is.
This show makes me sick. Almost every decision she makes is SO WRONG. I'm not sure how the contestants are compensated but if the show pays the money sued for no wonder she hardly ever rules for the plaintive or dismisses both sides. She acts like she's stupid, interrupts to much, doesn't use common sense and asks for impossible "proof" when common sense should prevail. Don't ever go to her if you want justice! Awful, awful awful. If you loan someone money and it's obvious it's a loan she won't rule for you because she calls you stupid for the loan. I just can't watch it anymore and will not watch the advertisements or trust them because of how bad she is.
I am so upset over Judge Karen's decision today. She chose to teach the
plaintiff a lesson because she loaned the defendant $4000 after only 3
dates to purchase a car and he was to repay on payday.....Judge said
the plaintiff needed to learn a lesson..... first off this was a "verbal" contract and the defendant paid her $1000 (which proves he knew it
wasn't a gift)..... I understand why the judge wanted her to "learn"
not to loan a boyfriend money but what lesson did it teach him? Judge
should've just went by the evidence not her place to "teach" a
lesson......

Karen Mills-Francis is awesome. I love her direct yet compassionate way of handling cases. She's a straight shooter and she does not seek to demean people the way Judge Judy and some of the others TV judges do. Judge Karen is well-balanced. She is fair, and she is entertaining. She has a great sense of humor and correctly applies the law. What's not to like? I also appreciate her biography. Karen was a top student. She went on to work as a defense attorney and later worked in private practice. She was also twice-elected as a judge. I think Judge Karen is very real. I always enjoy watching her. I Tivo several programs at once and watch them at the end of a crazy day. Judge Karen is a keeper and is a positive addition to reality television.

Similar to many other shows of this type, the show is entirely scripted, using outrageous complaints, and people who simply cannot act. It's an embarrassment for anyone involved in its production. With excellent legal-based fare on TV, it's incredible that this nonsense has found any audience. In the episode that I'm watching currently, a guy claimed that his ankle was broken by another fraternity member, and he wanted less than $150 in damages. The first case involved a woman who claimed that her husband-to-be faked his death, and had no proof that an money was expended, or that any sort of promise had been made. As I mentioned earlier, absolute nonsense. The show is produced by "Entertainment Studios", an obvious clue that no one involved with this mess has any legal standing whatsoever.

So I just watched a show in which she ruled in favor of the defendant in back to back cases. The first case the caterer broke the customers dining table and it would cost $250 to fix but the customer also signed a contract to pay $650 for the food which was served and enjoyed. The caterer sued for the $650, which he was denied and in turn made to pay $250. In reality and actual justice the defendant should have paid $400, not the $650 sued for. He won $250 plus a free dinner for 40 guests. Stupid.
The second one she allowed a lady that killed a man's trained falcon, which a golf course hired to rid them of problem ducks, to go without being held responsible for the man's $10000 loss and business loss. The lady said at the end, "I'll take a duck over a falcon any day." So stupid. Not even the point. She killed a majestic bird because she felt it was horrific that a bird was killing a bird. So the judge basically agreed that it's legit to kill a bird to show that it's wrong for a bird to kill a bird.
You never see real judge shows totally dismissing the original legitimate claim in favor of absurd defense, but here you see it back to back and it just pisses you off enough for a person,me, who doesn't write show reviews, ever, to get online, sign up for an account, and go through the trouble to make people aware so as not to waste their own time on watching this quack judgery*.
Total bullshit People.

Its no longer affordable to have 2 cars so I watch judge karen now in the lobby of my job as I wait for the train to start running again on days my gf has the car. 1 episode I watched a mother was suing a swim instructer for the reimbursement of class fees bc her son was being bullied and the instructor despite the mother talking to him did nothing to intervene the bullying continued so she thought the best thing to do was to take him out of the class. I don't know the law in this case but what judge karen told her was that kids get bullied and that mom shouldn't always jump in and save them. And ruled against her what bs. The kid was only 11. It doesn't specify the type of bullying but If my kid is getting hit or spit on or called names and dunked in the pool and the instructor lets that happen I'm taking my kid out of that class. The next episode is even worse.
So then I saw another episode and this prompted me to write this review. A girl was suing her former best friend for a scholarship she lost due to the friend posting a picture online and accusing her of being a man stealer and she began to get cyberbullied and bullied on campus by everyone to the point she couldn't leave her room and slipped back into a deep depression. She also testified that she had struggled with mental illness and sought therapy prior to the whole incident and that the defendant was also aware of that. Because of the severe bullying she missed classes and lost her scholarship. Judge karen ruled against her. I couldn't believe it. The photo in question was just a picture of her sitting next to the guy and they are laughing. Judge karen even said there was nothing to suggest cheating in the photo. So if thats the case isnt it defamation of character for someone to post a pic of you and spread harmful lies about you? Instead judge karen told the girl she needs to pick herself up by her bootstraps. How is that justice?? To me judge karen is disgusting. She lets her personal views get in the way of her rulings and her view on bullying is it doesn't exist. Despite the many many kids who have lost their lives because of it. Killed other kids. Kill theselves. I feel sorry for the girl I hope she is okay and gets help or that this show is fake.

I don't know if you have blood sugar problems or what but STOP YELLING at the people! This accomplishes nothing and really gets on the viewers nerves. You say you need to eat lunch well for goodness sake, stop filming and eat! You are making a total fool of yourself! The man that trains birds could not get a sentence out without you interrupting him. He looked at you like you have lost your mind and guess what? He is right. You need to see a doctor. Normal people do not rant like that> Especially educated women that have been appointed judgeships. I will pray for you. The way she fans herself makes me think she has a medical problem that needs to be addressed. She is a smart woman and she did not act like this several years ago when she first came on TV. She should see a doctor or the station she make her check out her health. she acts like a idiot ranting and raving for no reason. She chilled out for a few months when ppl posted on Facebook that she acted like a nut. Maybe she will see this and do something to help herself. I mean no harm I used to like the show but I can not watch a woman holler at litigants anymore.
I have been watching Judge Karen for a few months now and find that many of her rulings are not only unjust, but defy logic and integrity. She yells, ridicules and gives people bad advice. In the show today Judge Karen told a young man to disassociate with his mother and called him a Momma's Boy. Where is the honor and respect for a parent, whether you agree with what she did or not? For her to tell the son not to bother with his mother and to embarrass her in court that way was inexcusable. Because a son loves his mother or listens to her wise advice does not make him a Momma's Boy. You could see he agreed with his mother, yet Judge Karen still made fun of him and called them both names. How mean to try and separate a mother and son. It is not her role as a judge to ruin people's lives. She should not be a judge nor be on TV. This is the last show I'll be watching.

This is an Excellent show. Judge Karen is clear concise and best of all FAIR. As a former Officer of the court I see how She can really get to the Truth with her set of Legal Logic. She reminds me of my Mother. Please put all of her shows in one DVD box set. I will buy them all. Please do not cancel this show. i do not watch a lot of TV but I make a point of watching this show. With the " Court TV" market being saturated with shows this one really stands out. Judge Karen Gets it right every time. I can really relate to her since of what I call "Rules of behavior" and these are things that people should know to do when placed in certain situations but usually fail to do. judge Karen Knows those rules and when she applies them people usually leave her court room having learned something about appropriate human behavior.

I just watched and episode of Judge Karen at I was so shocked at her verdict, her "ghetto" expressions in addressing the litigants, and her admission in not knowing much about the topic that each of the litigants was challenging in court. Instead of her attempting to get some sort of information relating to the plaintiffs suit, she sat there saying "Well, let me think about it." She should have gotten some insight instead of trying to decipher something she obviously knew nothing about. Her show was awful when it was on the other network and it's twice as worst on Justice Central. This blond-haired hoochie mama should retire and leaving judging to people with the knowledge to do so. No one wants to view a loud mouth, stupid woman inflating her ego at the expense of people seeking real justice in hopefully real legal dilemmas.
I am really interested in watching court shows. I watch Judge Mathis, Judge Ross, Judge Milian, Judge Judy, and more recently Judge Jerry. Most of those Judges are very intelligent and gain experience and knowledge as time goes by. They are organized and have certain ways of doing their work to best come to a verdict or decision. Judge Karen is very different in the way she does her job. I do not know how she comes to her conclusion. It seems she does not know what she is doing. Her verdicts seem to be off the majority of the time. Whatever she does to help herself in determining an outcome she needs to stop and find a new way of doing things. She needs to listen to litigants and focus on what they say. Other great judges speak out loud to themselves to better try to visualize both parties or litigants situation that brought them to court. A good Judge in my eyes puts themselves in the eyes of both parties and has great communication. Judge Karen seems to think she is too good for that and cares more how she looks in the public's eyes, which backfires and makes her act and become non-professional. She needs to learn that having a real gavel does not make her high and mighty. I really want to hear the other Judges reviews of her and suggestions to her. I cannot watch her she because it literally makes me sick how she can be. Her courtroom is a circus and is an insult to others that take their Career serious. I am starting to believe that the guests in the show are there as punishment, and she should understand that most people laugh at her not with her.

Nice to have a different type of Judge and different type of cases. I know there a lot of court shows but this show you can really learn valuable lessons. I would love to know who her makeup and hair stylist are. Whoever the professionals are does a wonderful job. Judge Karen responds with natural everyday answers. She asked great questions to solve her case. I didn't realize she's been on the air since 2008. All of the episodes are great. I would love to see her show continue so we can enjoy more exciting cases. I have learned a lot from her. PLEASE BRING THE JUDGE BACK, SHE'S AWESOME !!!!!!!

In reference to the case where the uncle whos nephew owed him $900.00.for a floral arrangement. These were two articulant black males, and of course the uncle had more knowledge because of his age, although the nephew admitted that he was frugal.
In my opinion, Judge Karen made the correct decision but she tried to embarrass the nephew by telling him that he needed to cut his hair. ( he was wearing a cultural nappy afro style) Mostly, we should to take our elders advice seriously but, in this case, it wasn't good advice and it had absolutely nothing to do with the case. As judges, we should respect and honor their opinions but, in this case , it wasn't wanted, needed, or correct.
Judge Karen is contributing to some school systems not allowing some kids to take school pictures because they don't like their hairstyles, and it's not a coincidence that they're all black.

This show may have real people in it, as they are clearly alive and exist, but this show is as fake a Rolex watch bought on Wish, and cheaper than a $3 steak.
Judge Karen (and oh boy, is she ever!) is loud, ineffective, and rude...except when the "litigants" (actors) are yelling over each other. Then she sits back and lets her bailiff yell at the "litigants" to be quiet. Byrd (Judge Judy) and Douglas (The People's Court with Marilyn Milian) rarely spoke and NEVER raised their voices. They didn't have to. Sheindlin and Milian took care of that handily.
I know that all these court shows pay the damages on behalf of the litigant who was so ordered to pay in the ruling (it comes out of their appearance fee, I believe). I also know that Judge Judy (and all the rest) are not proper judges, but are instead arbitrators, but at least Judy actually listens to the litigants and her rulings make sense (mostly).
Is this what we've come to? Now, instead of real cases, we have scripted court shows? Now, instead of real litigants, we have terrible actors? I guess this is what happens when you over-saturate the market with these types of shows: instead of a small handful of shows with acceptable production values, there's now a glut of bottom-of-the-barrel shows with production values on par with an early-90s X-rated porno. You know the ones, where it was a parody of a popular mainstream movie of the time. If you don't know, ask a Gen-Xer. Or don't. It's honestly not worth it. Just know that it's bad.
Stick with those who came first, like Judge Judy, and leave trash like Judge Karen in the dumpster. At least with Judge Judy, it makes sense when litigants get yelled at.

Judge Karen is nothing but a bully.she puts down most plaintiffs & defendants at every turn & doesn't seem to really have the compassion to practice law.
Why is there so many commercials when your show is on ? You can't even watch without seeing three or four commercials. I love her and the other judges that be on but there are just so many commercials even on Christina's show there is just too many commercials in between sessions what's up with that? It don't even make no sense to watch it if you going to have all these commercials I might as well be watching the commercial show. I love all of the judges that you have on your show it's just too many commercials too many.
