If you ARE a fan of dark, morbid humour without getting your knickers in a "political-correctness" twist...then sit back and enjoy. You are really going to like (love?) this film! It is wildly entertaining, in great part due to the brilliant humour of the depraved horror comedian Gerald Gerald Geraldson, and in equal parts to the fine directing, cinematography and editing of Matt Frame.
The film intersperses footage from GGG's live comedy show with short comedy video clips (featuring the notorious GGG), which nicely Segway from the content in the live show, without seeming too forced. There are also some VERY amusing cut-aways of audience members who are NOT amused or painfully stoic-looking. The audience (at Halloween comedy showcase) watching the audience of the film, was roaring (I will attest to that! I was ONE of 'em!). GGGG works hard for the funny. :)
It also helps to know the comedian is a 'stand-up' guy, and hard worker as the producer his film, being AND the comedy showcase it was screened at ("two great tastes that go great together!"). He pulled it off with aplomb!
The film was hilarious, and I especially enjoyed the black and white footage of his stand-up act. The video clips were also very funny (a couple maybe ran a tad long..?) but overall, a hilarious and very entertaining film and a good, solid piece of...art. :) From my end, there was CONSTANT raucous laughter, guffaws and horrified groans throughout! That is NO easy feat for a performance film to do in front of a live audience! Well Done, Gents! WELL DONE.
(By the way, just who WAS that woman with the dour face who probably got more -negative- air time than she cared for in the audience cut-aways?? ha ha let's hope she's got a sense of humour about having her expressionless mug heavily showcased..! In retrospect, I would caveat, maybe it would have been good to select a couple more of the 'I'm-not-sure-I'm-enjoying-this-show' types for a bit of variation, so the 'joke' doesn't get too old.:)
Review Reader: Please watch this film! watch it tipsy, watch it sober, watch with your cat, watch it sitting on a mat. watch it with a rowdy group of never-do-wells and you will NOT go wrong! there is PLENTY to laugh at & the laughs are plentiful and consistent.
8 out of 10 popcorn bags (+ 3 beer) is my *rating*

Gerald, Gerald, Geraldson is a funny comedian. He has a very unique concept. Gerald is a horror comic. He uses the catch phrase "It's not easy being creepy." This TV special is also unique as it combines his live stand-up comedy performance which is in Black and White with funny sketches featuring his murderous character in his perfect element. The stand-up is often shocking with a good mix of word play. The sketches are as well. There are some wonderful performances to help support Gerald. Ashley Hunking was particularly outstanding. The chase scene even received a nice ovation from the crowd. I highly recommend Gerald, Gerald, Geraldson: One Night Stab. Please ask the Comedy Network when they will air this show.

Sick, Dark, Twisted, Politically Incorrect...and most importantly very very funny and original!
Most stand ups lately have been the same, safe routines, but Mr. Gerald Gerald Geraldson has brought it with his own unique and twisted vision! Combining his unique stand up humor with horror and interaction with fans, with splices of vignettes/clips and even his "brother" made an appearance too, which all combined, were drop dead (pun intended) funny! It was great to see some cameos from well known internet personalities such as The Cine Masochist and even the guitar player from the great Canadian band Just Off The Grid made for some great laughs! Gerald is fearless and his love of everything horror made great entertainment for the night!
The use of black and white was a great look and a grand tribute to club stand ups, Carnival of Souls/Night of the Living Dead/Found footage and etc, it fit the stand up perfectly, as well as the atmosphere set by the fans and most importantly Gerald! Which in my opinion, is a true test of a entertainer to succeed on his own merits and Gerald has proved that he could!
I have been following Gerald Gerald Geraldson for about a year now and to see that he got a stand up special (on Halloween no less!) and to hear the laughter and gasps was fantastic! It is sure to be hit with many!
If you are a horror fan or just in general a movie fan, then you will love some of his references! I highly recommend Gerald Gerald Geraldson for those who love to have a great laugh, clap your hands, slap your knee, gasp in shock and have your jaw drop due to laughter...and terror!
I will be attending some Gerald Gerald Geraldson's stand ups or specials in both Canada and America hopefully soon, this stand up special makes me want to go sooner than later!!

Horror Comedy is how I would describe Gerald Gerald Geraldson's style of performance. It is "terrifying unique" at best. If you are having a hard time making up your mind about if you want to watch a comedy or a horror just watch "One Night Stab" and you will get two birds stoned at once :) I have seen Gerald perform on many occasions and can honestly say it is never a dull moment when you are a member of the audience. This film sums up what kind of sense of humour Gerald has developed over the years - shocking, hilarious, and creepy...all in one. The way this movie has stand-up as well as before and after Gerald is on stage, and the skits in between is an outstanding way to keep it entertaining as possible. The acting throughout this film by Gerald and all the rest of the cast members involved couldn't be anymore real as they come. The expressions and tones in voice make it that much more shocking and hilarious. I suggest turning the lights off and watching this with good friends to have good laughs and for a whole new horror comedy experience. You will not find this brand of stand-up anywhere else. I hope to see more and more Gerald Gerald Geraldson in the future!

The format and production value of this off the cuff piece is shot quite well and impressive. Having the skits interwoven to go along with the subject matter in the stand-up was easily enjoyable.
The supporting cast namely Ashley Hunking, did quite well in their performing roles.
The prerecorded footage were a pleasant throw back to old Grindhouse Horror performances. GGG's dark, sick, and twisted humour pushes the line between non-political correctness and the squeamishly vile.
I look forward to further releases and performances by this horrifically unique performer.

I'm a long time fan of Gerald's act and I was a part of this special, so it's sort of hard to write a review for this without coming across as phony. This was just as fun to watch as it was to be a part of, it was so surreal to sit in the Rio Theatre and watch it all unfold on the big screen, I loved every minute of it.
Big time credit naturally goes to Gerald, but just as much to Matt Frame for filming it and editing it together. All the victims did an amazing job, and the kills were awesome! Very much like something out of the 80's slasher films that I enjoy watching so much.
Fans of stand up comedy, fans of horror/slasher films, fans of...REALLY LONG chase scenes! You gotta watch One Night Stab, it'll give you the happiest boner of your life.

I felt compelled to watch GGG One night stab after seeing the amazing Murder Box. Amazing one liners blended in with horror. I really hope Gerald Varga gets more recognition. Extremely talented and seems to be an effective method actor.
I recommend not seeing this until after watching Murder Box. I was lucky enough to see it on YouTube.

Awesome original dark humor with a touch of disturbing.
It will make you laugh, it'll scare you and at times possibly make you want to vomit or pee yourself.
Great job Gerald and the cast and crew. Loved the social commentary and pop cultural references...and the occasional blood spilling, I mean who doesn't?
Gerald is so committed to the character that it gets freaky at times. He's either a great character actor or a complete psychopath.
After all it ain't easy being creepy.
Can't wait for the next one.

I have seen Gerald perform numerous times, and I love his work. A very unusual act, indeed. This film features lots of work previously unseen on stage, which is quite refreshing. One Night Stab is refined, and very professionally produced; fun for ghouls of all ages. Gerald says he is not a zombie, but I know a zombie when I see one. I wouldn't have this guy look after my dog or my cat, or even my goldfish. He might eat them. They might at least catch "Creepatitus", and then infect your kids. You must see the film to hear what the problem is with Gerald Gerald Geraldson, and find out what he says he actually is. Make sure you have someone to hold on to when you see this film - you will be frightened.

Just finished watching the online screener of Gerald Gerald Geraldson's "One Night Stab". Have to to say I've been a fan of his stuff since the first time I saw him, hosting "Abracadaver" a couple of years ago. This latest effort doesn't disappoint with a lot of his classic gags presented alongside some new material so it's a treat for newbie and veteran alike. It should be stated that Triple G's stuff is not for everyone but if your sense of humour leans a little towards the dry, dark and tasteless you'll have yourself a good chuckle. I was impressed by the production values of the show and I could easily see this aired on any cable comedy channel. Along with Gerald's performance, there are a number of quick short films interspersed throughout showcasing the talents of many local Vancouver actors. Some standouts include Ashley Hunking, Caroe Sandoval and David Quast. Check it out...or Gerald will git ya!

Having seen Gerald Gerald Geraldson perform his dark brand of horror-comedy live (or as live as he gets), I was expecting this video to be pretty much what I'd already seen. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the filmmakers have broken up the hilarious stand-up routine with professionally produced & equally funny skits, sketches & one-liners. The supporting cast is also very good, particularly Ashley Hunking. Whether they are victims or merely witnesses to the murder & mayhem that somehow seems to follow Gerald through life, the other cast members are perfect foils for the headliners. Being PC is not as much fun as it sounds & Gerald is making a name for himself as one of the most anti-PC performers working in comedy. As long as the audience understands that GGG is at the opposite end of politically correct, this is entirely enjoyable. I highly recommend it!

I was so pleased to be invited to be an online screener of this movie. Gerald Gerald Geraldson is a disturbing and fascinating creature. One could argue that every comic is portraying a character onstage. This stage presence can be very close to the actual personality of the artist. Sometimes the character is extreme - Emo Phillips springs to mind. In the case of Gerald Gerald Geraldson, both the character and the material are strong indeed. Geraldson's comedy is comedy delivered by a sociopathic killer, which means sometimes it's not all fun and games. Geraldson is so committed to his character he is fun to watch no matter what's coming out of his mouth. And sometimes that's blood.
Every so often, the standup set wanders away from the funny and into the downright disturbing. Occasionally it's more about revealing the depth of Geraldson's character rather than tickling your funnybone, and sometimes it's more about ripping out your funnybone and ramming it down your goddamn throat, which should delight fans of the horror genre. SEE THIS IF YOU LIKE HORROR MOVIES.
The standup set is broken up with filmed sketches, and some interstitial close-up one-liners for transitions. The sketches are often lighter in tone than the standup, and the change in rhythm and location is refreshing. The sketches allow for some fun filmic tributes to the genre. In fact a few of the sketches are so well paced, almost innocent, yet so strange and sick, I started to feel like I was watching some sort of depraved Sesame Street.
A note on the cutaways to audience reactions: You see this all the time in concert footage, but here the filmmakers chose to leave in the shots of audience members who are clearly just not getting it. This is freaking hilarious. But that's what being a horror fan is like - it's a bit risky. You've got to brace yourself. Gerald Gerald Geraldson can be a fun challenging night out for the brave and the brash, going just to see how much you can take. Daring yourself and your friends to not be grossed out, daring to laugh at the horrors instead of running from them. Or maybe laughing while running from them is the best course of action.
Either way,this guy kills me.

I met Gerald a couple of years ago through a band mate of mine. We watched some UFC fights at a bar and I found him the funniest guy at the table of clowns that we are. Later...as he was building this production I have followed his antics on Youtube... watched a live show at the RIO and have partied with Gerald and his comrades. I even had the pleasure of being strangled in one of his short videos...and was beaten in the head...with his brothers head whom you might know. I had been waiting for the production to be screened and I found it still funny even though I had seen most of the material. Gerald is so unique with his mixture of being creepy and funny at the same time...and I am looking forward to see what comes next...Luv ya man....it ain't easy been creepy!!!
