Sword of the Demon Hunter Announces Premiere Delay: When Is the Anime's New Release Date? - Main Image

The Sword of the Demon Hunter release date window was originally scheduled for July, but it has now been delayed, marking the first major delay of a summer 2024 anime.

Its delay was announced recently by the anime’s production committee through the show’s official website.

There’s not much in the way of details regarding the delay’s reason, but the studio’s troubles with the production of another show are likely partly to blame.

Sword of the Demon Hunter Release Date Delayed

Sword of the Demon Hunter is an upcoming historical fantasy anime based on a light novel series that ran between June 2019 and November 2023.

Well before the light novel ended, an anime adaptation was announced. This was back in September 2021, and it took years before new info was revealed.

According to an official statement by the production committee , the broadcast of Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho , an upcoming TV anime based on the series of supernatural historical fantasy novels, has been postponed until 2025. The series was originally scheduled to debut on June 27, 2024. The production committee cites “production delays” as the cause of the postponement, notes that the series will broadcast for 2 consecutive cours in 2025, and apologizes to the fans and thanks them for their understanding. The original Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho novels are written by Motoo Nakanishi, illustrated by Tamaki, and published in Japan by Futabasha. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes an English language version of the novels as well as the manga adaptation with artwork by Yu Satomi.
