Hennie and Renske seem to be facing insurmountable problems. Together, they decide to go on an impromptu road trip. They are joined by fellow travelers, Marshall, a retired vet and Gert, a patient recovering from stroke
The police suspect that elderly people in the community are being abducted. Melissa, Genesis, and Thomas believe their parents to be missing too. The only person who knows the truth is Linda, the community's tattletale.
Thomas, Lillian, Melissa, and Genesis form a search party to find their parents. Meanwhile, Gert has begun showing signs of recovery, which pleases Hennie. Pretty Boy joins the travelling caravan, but seems to be running from something.
Tempers rise on the road, the kids and the parents are at odds with themselves and each other. Renske makes peace with her cancer and pushes Hennie to rekindle his love for music
Marshall discovers Renske's secret. Hennie is frustrated and wants to go home. Pretty Boy is in trouble - gangsters of the Cape are in hot pursuit. Renske reprimands Hennie, encouraging him to notice what's been in front of him all along.
As a result of car trouble, tension runs high as Hennie doesn't trust Pretty Boy's motives. Renske takes a tumble and scares everyone. Their children are becoming increasingly frustrated with one another.
Despite Renske's determination and courage to let go and be free, Hennie gets mixed messages. Gert, the silent observer until now, shocks Hennie when he not only speaks but tells the truth.
With a new-found energy, Hennie and Renske and the traveling friends engage their journey together. Renske is deteriorating but puts on a brave face. Hennie is startled by a chance meeting of his son.
As a result of Lee Anne's actions, Genesis realises he must choose what is important in life. As Linda's Stoep Stories become increasingly famous, Hennie and Renske's love for each other grows stronger.
Linda is interviewed by a local news reporter about the success of her Stoep Stories. Pretty Boy has taken on the role of Gert's physiotherapist. In response to Renske's request, Hennie makes his famous Snoek barbecue.
