As a big Batman Beyond fan this is exactly what I wanted for the movie, the only issue I had was the 14 minute run time, at least we did get this after the live-action movie, animated movie and, video game all got canceled, I got to say one of my more nit-picky complaints is the name, I know they put year one to separate it from the show but, it feels thrown in to get people like "year one, I like the year one comics." But realistically I've got no complaints.
To credit this movie I love Bruce's voice in this it sounded just like Kevin Conroy's did in Batman Beyond 1999, and then lastly I have to talk about the huge budget and how they got Ryan Potter to play Terry, I need a part two.

Nice proof of concept! Would be exciting to see what they can do with a feature and large budget! It's going to have the cons of being fan made, but that's to be expected. This is a good film to get people to start talking about more Batman Beyond content!
I think Ryan Potter was a good casting choice for Terry! They look really similar. The vfx was good. Wish it was longer as it would be good to see the characters fleshed out more. The scenes are reminiscent of the old cartoon which I believe was done on purpose. Growing up with the cartoon, it was cool to see.
Excited to see what comes of this short.

I have been a massive fan of Batman Beyond since a kid and as an adult, I am dying to see a live-action movie of this character and I'll be here when it finally gets announced. Until then, we have this live-action fan film and it is absolutely phenomenal.
Positives for Batman Beyond: Year One (2024): First off, I have to say that this fan film looks phenomenal. The visuals effects for this fan film look better than almost any of the big budget Hollywood movies nowadays. I also have to give it to Ryan Potter as he was a perfect Terry McGinnis and I would really love to see him again for a big budget version of this character. The Batsuit looks phenomenal and it is one that I would love to see in big budget movie. And finally, the action sequences are awesome.
Overall, Batman Beyond: Year One (2024) is one of the best fan films I've ever seen in my life.

I am in all praise for the fan made short film and this seems like a high budget movie. It feels so good when watching it. The writing is cooking and It has awesome cinematography some scenes are very dark yet way of capturing the emotion is just fabulous. Some of the action sequences combined with brilliance of cinematography make those pieces of real art and perfection. All the actors and actresses are fantastic. I got goosebumps so many times throughout. Overall a perfect movie in my humble opinion. The character development throughout this film is something that will go overlooked due to the amazing action sequences.
Though only roughly around 10 minutes long, this fan film captures the passion and spirit of Batman Beyond in such a realistic way that I completely forgot I was watching a FAN MADE FILM.
When you think of the term "Fan-made film," the first few things that come to mind is bad acting, messy writing, cheesy props, and forgettable cosplay. This film I'm happy to say has NONE of those things.
The editing is fantastic, the writing is easy enough to follow along, but not too generic to where I'm bored and the sound design is top quality. My favorite surprise in the film was the Batman Beyond suit. While many big-budget studios try and often fail to make a comic accurate version of superhero costumes this film basically succeeds on its very first attempt.
The acting can be a bit bland and cringy at times, but really picks up near the final few minutes, and I was beyond impressed with the combat and CGI choreography. Despite this being a low budget fan project you can clearly see that so much love went into this short movie and the fact that they also have the insight and talent to back it up is just icing on the cake.
Now Warner Bros. I'm directly speaking to you...
Whether its rejecting a spider-verse-styled animated movie, canceling a Beyond Arkham Video Game, or denying an officially licensed live action movie you have refused time and time again to grant fans of the DC universe a well deserved Batman Beyond a project.
Despite your poor reception of more than half of the DC project you have approved in recent years, this passion project clearly shows just how much love, respect and support fans have for this IP and instead of neglecting or ignoring the fans. I implore you to work with them as we have been starving for so long to actually enjoy the projects you approve.
Bottom line, I loved this project and I know that Kevin Conroy would as well if he were still around to see it. Great work!

I thought the film was boring and had poor directing, writing, and acting. The wigs and costumes were terrible. The directing had no flair and the script dragged. I know that the Terry actor is famous and I do believe that is where most of the hype came from but for me it didn't deliver. I also thought the fight scenes were poorly choreographed and boring. See 'Logan the wolf' for some top tier fan film choreography. The costume looked plastic and the VFX tried to save it but it didn't work for me. I don't want to see a longer cut of this and believe it would flop terribly in the box office. I'm not hating on this film but there are better fan films that came out this year but didn't receive press because they didn't have an already famous actor in them.
