(I had to submit this review a second time because it was blocked the first time. I don't know why, but please leave Indie Creators alone algorithm.)
After seeing a very convincing ad on their Instagram page ( @rfnpictures) we had to drop everything this morning, forget about our class assignments, and sit down to watch Victor Gabriel's blood-soaked love letter to micro budget gor-orror filmmaking.
If an early scene of a spike going through a woman's head doesn't make you want to barf your breakfast, then go ahead and watch it in the morning.
This is classic Pulp-Slasher fiction, full of jokes and references that only true horror fans will get, showing a Slasher (wearing a 60s cartoon-looking doll mask) stalking 4 friends through the woods.
And featuring one of the most hilarious yet disturbing gut pulling scenes ever. The small twist at the end shows that the passion for the genre is strong with this one and the 40 minute runtime makes it a perfect watch for the younger, short-attention span generation, while the older generation can go back and watch it a second time. It did leave us wondering what happened in Neckhole rap***Part 1, though. Please give this a chance and start supporting the Indies again.

Horror short Blood Gorge is available to watch for free on YouTube. Because no one in their right mind would pay to see it.
The plot (if you can call it that) sees a group of friends going to some remote woods to spend the night partying, but find themselves being hunted by a mask-wearing serial killer instead. That's the level of invention on display. The trite script even has the friends dispensing of their phones before they leave their car, a horror cliché guaranteed to grind my gears.
Of course, an original plot isn't necessarily essential when making a horror movie: if the film delivers the scares and the splatter, it's easy to be forgiving about the script. Sadly, Blood Gorge spends far too much of its runtime on pointless scenes with bad acting and terrible dialogue when it should be getting messy - so much 'filler' in a film that is just 40 minutes long. There are no scares, and the gory stuff, when it happens, is lacking in creativity.
I'm all for people picking up a camera and giving it a go - some of my favourite horror films were made on a shoestring budget by enthusiastic groups of friends - but Blood Gorge did nothing for me.

Classic horror and gore, given the same beautiful care and intention harkened back to I Drink Your Blood.
If you're someone like me and you crave something made with love while simultaneously wanting the makers to be seeking little ways to give you the creeps - this movie is for you. This film is an absolute wild ride and I enjoyed every turn.
If you're looking for heartless CGI and empty plots I would recommend a different movie for you. Practical effects galore (and gore lol) are strewn about this movie and you're bound to enjoy yourself for all 40 minutes.
Grab your comfies, get your snacks, and buckle up for this one.

BG is a literal breath of fresh air.
It's so awesome to see a full fledged horror short made by true horror/gore fans that doesn't try to be more than it is. Blood, guts, and fun. I loved ALL the practicals throughout the whole movie. Kair Brayden brings it with all of her talent.
Honestly, BG is just one super blood fun horror ride. And you can see in the movie that the team had fun making it. The fact that they put it out on YouTube for everyone to enjoy without having to subscribe ot anything super cool of them. But I still bought the DVD to support up and coming indie horror.
Victor and his team are definitely a bunch of talent to watch as I can see so much good stuff coming from RFN. All the stars!
