This film marks Lindsay Lohan's first theatrically released leading role (with a wide release) in 18 years. Her last such film was I Know Who Killed Me, which came out in 2007.
This will be the first Freaky Friday movie to be shot in a widescreen 2.39:1 aspect ratio, unlike its predecessor, which was shot in a taller 1.85:1 aspect ratio.
