Exclusive: Sources tell us that 3 Body Problem actress Eve Ridley has landed the part of Ruthye Mary Knolle in DC Studios and Warner Bros’ Craig Gillespie-directed Supergirl.

The movie is based on Tom King’s 2022 comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which Bilquis Evely illustrated. Ana Nogueira adapted the comic book for the big screen. In that comic, the bad guy is Krem of the Yellow Hill, who kills a young alien girl’s father. She draws Supergirl into the conflict. Knolle is a noble and honorable warrior who travels aross the galaxy with Supergirl to hunt Krem for killing her father in cold blood.

Deadline first told you that Rust and Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts landed the role of Krem. House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock won the Supergirl title role after a big search. She’s also appearing in another DC project before making her big-screen debut as Supergirl.

The new horror movie from New Line Cinema and director Zach Cregger (Barbarian), the upcoming Weapons has been adding to its cast all week, and today brings another update.

Deadline reports that Benedict Wong (3 Body Problem), Amy Madigan (Antlers), Austin Abrams (Euphoria), and Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives) have all signed on.

They join previously announced stars Josh Brolin (Dune 2), Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Alden Ehrenreich (Cocaine Bear) in the mysterious horror movie.

The upcoming Weapons is from writer/director Zach Cregger, who will also produce alongside his Barbarian producing team: Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.
