Death Whisperer 2 (2025) continues the chilling saga of Yak and his family as they confront relentless supernatural horrors, blending Thai folklore with spine-tingling jump scares. Three years after the tragic death of his sister, Yam, Yak—now an experienced ghost hunter—embarks on a perilous journey deep into the foreboding jungle of Dong Khomote.

His mission: to vanquish the vengeful ghoul that took Yam’s life. Buoyed by a busy start to the month with 38 new movies and series dropping, this week turned out to be very active for new releases. A total of 70 brand-new movies, games, and series debuted over the past week, with even more scheduled to arrive over the weekend. Below, we’ll highlight three titles that should be on your watch list, provide the full list of new additions, and check in on what’s been topping the TV and movie charts over the past week.

Death Whisperer 2’s ending is a much happier one than the first film. It’s essentially a family reunion that feels like a delight after the journey we’ve been through the whole film. These are not prestige horror movies, but I’ve got to admit they’re quite entertaining. In fact, I think this one is more so than its predecessor, specifically because the whole middle act feels like a blend of Jurassic Park and the Bollywood movie Kaal. Oh, there’s also a little bit of Evil Dead right at the end. The film iconically combines an original Thai story with a dozen modern global horror movie tropes to give us a unique and entertaining film. US outfit Blue Fox Entertainment has pounced on animated feature A Sloth Story, which premiered at the Annecy Festival in June and is being sold at AFM by Sola Media.

Thailand’s skill with ghostly drama series gets another showing in “The Legend of Nang Nak,” which releases widely across Asia next week.

Directed by Taweewat Wantha and scripted by Sorarat Jirabovornwisut, the pair behind “Death Whisperer 1 and 2,” the 30-part series portrays a ghostly love story that defies the barriers between life and death.

The series hails from production firm Minds@Work and Thai terrestrial broadcast group Bec World. International sales are handled by I.E. Entertainment.
