I will start by saying that as a Christian in today's society I am very suspicious of any film about Christ. Nowadays too many people have their own ideals about who he is and how they can fit his life and story into their own narratives. Consequently when I saw the thumbnail for this movie I immediately pictured it as some type of soap opera about the life of Jesus. However eventually I decided to give it a try. I will say from the very beginning when you meet the character Luke you realize this is not your typical retelling of the life of Jesus. So at this point that is neither good nor bad it's just an observation. As the story begins with the early life of Jesus I am still quite skeptical and not quite convinced that the movie will hold up to a lot of the other retellings that I have seen. All of that changes when the actor playing Jesus begins to speak Jesus's words from the Bible in the book of Luke. All my doubts were gone. Not only was I mesmerized but I literally felt as if the words of the Bible were being read to me or I was watching them as they were being uttered. I am very proud of what my Arabic brothers and sisters did with this movie. Whoever wrote and structured the dialogue in this movie not only understood the time and the place and the context in which they were spoken but they understood the nature of the gospel itself. I believe that is the highest praise you can give to anyone retelling the life of Christ. No this is not a big budget Hollywood production and the actors are not beautiful Hollywood movie stars. But if you want to be in the master's presence as the story of his life is retold then watch this movie. God bless.
