The song's theme, "McNeely's Park" by Richard Harris, is a joking nod to the hit song "MacArthur Park" first recorded by Irish actor-singer Richard Harris in 1968. McNeely Park is a real park in Carleton Place, Ontario, where the movie was shot.
The main characters, Gord Bright and Jessie Bright, are named in honour of real life knife-throwing champion and hall of famer Ward Wright and his actual daughter/assistant Jessie Wright.
