“Bridgerton” Season 3 is off to a steamy hot start.
The third season of the Shondaland period drama drew 45.1 million views over its first four days of availability, according to Netflix, easily finishing first on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list. Take that, Tom Brady roast.
It was the biggest week — by quite a bit — for any series on Netflix since the streamer changed its core metric from hours viewed to views in mid-June 2023.
The first four “Bridgerton” Season 3 episodes reached number 1 in 78 countries and the Top 10 in 92, Netflix said. The next four episodes premiere on June 13; try not to obsess over the big cliffhanger between now and then.
The third season of “Bridgerton” also brought the first two back to (some semblance of) their former glory. “Bridgerton” Seasons 1 and 2 both returned to Netflix’s Top 10 TV (in any language) list in the week ahead of Season 3. They did even better during Season 3’s premiere week.

Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan & Laapataa Ladies Still(Photo Credit –Facebook)
On May 4, Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyothika’s Shaitaan movie was released on Netflix. The movie was released in theatres on March 8 and received mixed reviews. However, the audience enjoyed the psychological horror thriller, and it became the first big hit of 2024. When it was released on the streaming platform, the response was equally impressive. Hence, Ajay’s film is in the second spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Films (Non-English) list.
Shaitaan is a remake of the Gujarati movie Vash. From May 6 to May 12, the Ajay Devgn-starrer received 6.6 million views. The movie that’s on the number one spot is The Courier. It’s a Spanish film that stars Aron Piper, Maria Pedraza, and Luis Tosar.

“The Idea of You” was the most-streamed movie of the May 3-9 viewing window, per Luminate. The movie, starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine, was watched for 714.2 million minutes between May and May 9, its first full week of availability on Amazon Prime Video.
Up from its No. 5 position on last week’s chart, which was recorded after only one day of streaming for the movie, this translates to 6.2 million views when divided by its runtime. By that metric, it actually comes behind the week’s No. 2 movie, Jerry Seinfeld’s “Unfrosted,” which hit 684.4 million minutes watched and 7.4 million views in its first full week on Netflix.
The Netflix documentary “Secrets of the Neanderthals” made third place with 167.9 million minutes watched (2.1 million views) in its first full week. The rest of the movies chart, populated by titles including “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” “Road House” and “Honeymoonish” all fell below...

Romantic films lately have come up with permutations and combinations of love stories about men and women and how they meet. It is usually these plot points that make any one film in this genre different from the others. The rest of the story remains the same, and just like that, such films get traction only for the romance part. The rest is just forgettable. The brand-new Netflix original Mother of the Bride, which was released on May 9th, 2024, is yet another addition to this genre. Just last week, Netflix Middle East released Honeymoonish, a Kuwaiti film about a newlywed couple trying to get along with each other after their shotgun wedding.
Mother of the Bride, as the title suggests, is the story of Dr. Lana Winslow, one of the reputed researchers, who is worried about her only daughter Emily Winslow getting married to a man the mother has not even met.

Netflix’s Roast of Tom Brady got loads of press coverage (including several stories on this very website), but a different live special from the streamer’s Netflix Is a Joke festival racked up more views over the weekend.
Katt Williams: Woke Foke, which streamed live on Saturday, May 4, earned 4 million views (determined by total viewing time divided by running time) worldwide, according to Netflix’s internal measurement for April 29-May 5. That’s double the 2 million for the Brady roast, albeit with an extra day for users to watch as the roast streamed Sunday evening. The roast had more total viewing time at 6.2 million hours, to 4.1 million hours for Williams’ special — but it was also almost three times as long as Woke Foke.
That both specials made the global top 10, however, is testament to Netflix’s growing capacity to host live events. The streamer’s first live stand-up special,...

‘Honeymoonish’ Review: A Decent Romantic Comedy From The Land Of Khaleej Mimics Many Hollywood Films
Valentine’s Day has come and gone, and still, there are romantic movies and shows dropping on several Ott platforms that manage to cling to one’s heart. The whole point of a romantic comedy is to make the audience believe in the love and goodness of characters who would do anything for the people they care about. Over the years, Hollywood and Hindi movies have predominantly made us believe that love conquers all and that people will find what they are seeking eventually. Honeymoonish is the Netflix Middle East Original from Kuwait that chronicles the story of a newly married couple with two different motivations behind tying the knot. Released on April 29, 2024, this movie will pleasantly surprise you.

Netflix introduces us to its latest offering from Kuwait, featuring stars Mahmoud Boushahri and Nour Al-Ghandour. While the film may not break new ground in the cinematic world, it endeavors to mirror the grandeur of Hollywood productions and concurrently showcase the tourism appeal of Lebanon. Despite its ambitious intentions, the end result falls somewhat short, presenting a lukewarm addition to both the worldwide cinema landscape and its specific genre.
The film, a romantic comedy, struggles to strike the right balance between romance and humor.
Plot Overview of “Honeymoonish”
The storyline follows a man obliged to marry to fulfill his father’s wishes (and secure his inheritance) and a woman desperate to tie the knot after her boyfriend marries someone else. Their story unfolds into a honeymoon riddled with complications, where truth is a rare commodity.
Characters: Hamad and Noor
