Nick Jonas’ The Good Half is your run-of-the-mill indie grief film that attempts to bring to the forefront how humor can help one overcome sorrow. Unfortunately, the film comes across as a half-hearted attempt at bringing to life a character we’re meant to be more curious about but don’t get enough of. Ryan Bergara, what are you doing here? I’m not going to lie, never seen a better cameo (I wish we could bring back “Buzzfeed Unsolved”). The Good Half tells the story of a grieving family when the mother prematurely passes away from cancer. It’s mainly from the point of view of Renn, Lily’s son and her favorite, for obvious reasons. Renn’s an LA-based beat-down writer who has a day job to pay the bills. He gets the dreaded call from his sister and has to return home to Cleveland amidst the noise...
