Each of the floors Ben visits in the hospital were selected in relationship to Dante's Purgatorio. The former hospital had two wings; a west tower (5 floors) and the east tower (2 floors). In order to keep with the design director Drew Hall and production designer Mark Terry constructed, multiple sets of floor signs were created and the team used every floor in the hospital to represent Ben's journey.
The gray shirt worn by detective Ben Walls (Clayne Crawford) throughout the film bears the word "Veritas" in large letters between "Klatoo" and "Niktoo." Veritas is the Latin word for Truth. In Roman mythology it was the name given to the goddess of truth. The other two words were derived from "Klaatu barada nikto," the words Helen Benson (Patricia Neal) must say to Gort the robot in the classic 1951 film The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951).
The words Klaattu Baraada Nickto were the words Bruce Campbell had to recite to obtain the Book of the Dead in Army of Darkness (1992), but they originated in the 1951 science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951).
Every clock in the film reads exactly 3:33 except for Peter's watch.
The hospital featured in Convergence is called Kairos Medical Center. In theology, Kairos means the supreme moment, in relation to time (Chronos), when a critical decision is made.
