Honestly!
The 1 and 10 ratings are really getting to me!
Very rare I use both.People have to understand that for every 10 or 1 rated film, there are probably 100 which fells somewhere in between. This is one of those.Acting is good, story is ok,atmosphere is really good. Will I ever rewatch it?No.But for one time watch film it is a solid 6.Not bad at all.It feels that IMDB now is used mostly by teens or grumpy old men...Please,guys,rate films honestly! We all check ratings before or after watching)))

Very dull movie even having appealing storyline of criminals and robbers. I could not expect such low interesting movie on such subject. Actually I wish to happen something remarkable till end, but my bad luck I never saw that even movie end. No thrill no suspense and even no action you would see. Only three or four times gun shooting happened and movie ends. No action, no mystery nothing. I wasted my time and money on it, so I do not recommend to others. Avoid.

The acting is okay. The problem is none of the characters are likeable. The movie moves at a snail's pace. I did not care if the main character got his wife's murderer. There are better Frank Grillo movies out there like "Point Blank" and "the Purge Election Year".

There's a bunch of great cast over here, so the acting are great..However the script are not good enough and storyline are too slow.. The higher rating are for all those great actors that I love, From Robert Taylor (Longmire), Frank Grillo (I watch every piece he's in), Luke Grimes (Yellowstone), James Badge Dale ( my love) !

Nicely shot very brooding but that's about it and for that this movie gets one star.
Don't even bother wasting your time with this film as that's 97 mins of my life I'm not getting back.
If you like small town drama movies you should find this one good enough.
This genre has been done a lot so of course there are some cliches and things you saw before but it still gets by pretty well.
There are one or two things which are totally unbelievable and I cannot understand why the director / writer put them there as the movie is kind of realistic without crazy nonsense, so those one or two things are really really stupid, even if he loves his wife he is a man with a normal body not superman.
7/10

It is, in fact, very slow, very disjointed and ultimately unsatisfying.
The climax is non existent and it tries to be more pretentious than it needs to be with moody voice over...
Not one I'd recommend, not even for die hard Grillo fans... If there are any..

Personally I felt the musical score gripped me. The dramatic sequences were suspenseful, quite minimalist, yet perhaps small town America is minimalist, bland, bleak and inhospitable.... There were parts that made me feel like I was watching a horror movie, not in the sense of monsters of course, but monstrous things people do and somehow; a force of nature that enables vengeance for broken people.

The amount of negative reviews here is astonishing.
Expectations people. This isn't the new No Country For Old Men. Grillo performs well, as usual. Luke Grimes is good. Is it predictable? Sure. It's a fun movie to watch. It's well shot. Acting is fine.
Pointless, you never get an explanation of the motives; no finale. Cardboard acting, amateurish direction. Film cut and assembly seems made with an axe or a power saw. An absolute waste of time.

Not worst film in history but this film is just empty boring nothing special not much to say film is nothing to exciteded about nothing thrilling just empty film from start to middle to ending, it's boring revenge film witch had nothing at all acting performance at least not to bad. story its to much of back and fourth too much it's not slaright forward simple film, nothing excited about this the trailer was only better because it makes movie look better but film itself was just too plain and boring. 80s Traditional Style of movie at trailer but not in movie so i was saying to myself is this trying to be modern 80s Traditional
Style if you watch trailer it has that kind of movie in it but not in movie. story is just guy Nick Brenner (Luke Grimes) With an honest job and a loving wife, living in small town America is minimalist later on Sloan (Frank Grillo) gets out of prison and regroups with his crew with another bad guys. they go after Nick now Nick use to be their group but he betrayed him he got them locked up in prison he thought he was going to have normal life but these guys got out prison coming after him. Nick old crew hasn't forgotten about him or the money he stole, and when they take what Nick now values the most they killed
his wife and then they shot him he survives, he goes out for revenge to get to those guys one by one. now film is very unnecessary scenes with a pace slower than a snail for 95% of the film, the 98 min length felt like 2+ hours. There was almost no suspense or surprises, and the entire film was predictable, even with it's failed attempt at the flash-back scenes at end of movie and end of day it's nothing excited about this movie no twist no suspense no supirse at all. sadly this is not worth it, it's one of those movies is very mediocre film, frank grillo performance isn't best or great he is okay he was their but he was pretty wasted in this film that's about it. There was almost zero character
development or backstory. This type of writing is more at the level of a sophomore film student project, could hired seasoned screenwriter to edit his script, this film would have been more enjoyable and it's need better cast it's better to have Frank Grillo has main character but him as villain is pretty boring to say and see he play's a crap villain nothing like donnybrook he is worser in donnybrook sadly. I would have fallen asleep and i would have to playback parts just to know what happen and it's still nothing it makes me to go back to sleep more. There are several positives to this movie, it's well-shot, there is plenty of atmosphere, some realistic dialogue and it's well cast, the acting is great. On the flip side, do we really need another small southern town revenge drama and in this case a completely unremarkable , slow, boring and dull one ? There are so many shots and individual scenes that go on way too long, the movie is padded with scenes that add atmosphere but no interest. If you cut them out this movie would be 15 minutes long. For all the fine acting ,
the plot is thin and actions happen that are just absurd. For awhile I had no idea what was going on. Maybe due to budget, plenty of action takes place off-screen that we never get to see, while we do get to see scene after scene of people walking around looking worried. Luke Grimes and Frank Grillo are both great actors and that is the only reason I'm even giving this 3 stars. i love Frank grillo is always one of the stars of this so I knew I had to watch it and honestly I wanted to like it movie to see him different character as bad guy but he kinda play sloppy villain him as villain wasn't great his character was just nothing i don't know why they can't write good villains nowadays anymore sadly. now people i know i truly understand this isn't a action full on blast film i know it's drama crime thriller but what was thrilling about ? Actually I wished
to happen something remarkable till end, but my bad luck I never saw that even movie end. No thrill no suspense and even no action you would see. Only three or four times gun shooting happened and movie ends. No action, no mystery nothing, ending doesn't explain nothing at all sadly, frank grillo isn't much in movie to be Honest he is not much in it sadly. 3.10 your money and your time will go in ashes and it will leave you empty.

Just finished viewing this what felt like noir film that im not sure what to make of it. The story was ok, acting ok/meh, but it still just didn't make a solid impact as like a Fargo, or a No country for old men. It was bland. For a Saturday, I muddled thru. Would I recommend? Not really, it's a film that everyone can make their own assessment on, because it's open for interpretation.

With his life turned around for the good Nick Brenner (Luke Grimes) thought his past was behind him, but his old (criminal) crew wants satisfaction for the money Nick stole. While Nick is on a hunting trip they come and kill Nick's wife Tara (Marguerite Moreau). When Nick returns they shoot him and leave him for dead. Ah, but he survives. You knew that, right?
Let's be clear, the acting all around is very good. It's the script and the shootings that are very bad. Yes, it's slow going but we have to keep in mind that Nick lost his wife and Sheriff Frank lost Tara, his daughter, and we need to understand some scenes that focused too long on their faces at times.
Notable: James Badge Dale as Sam, Nick's good friend.
Sheriff Frank Parson (Robert Taylor) is Tara's father and Frank has always been against Nick marrying Tara, but she did anyway.
The shootings are not as clear as they should have been. We don't see all the shootings. We see Sheriff Frank see bodies at a motel and at a gas station. We see Frank Grillo as Sloan in the beginning a lot, but that's it. Very brief scenes later on with him in them. Also the pacing could have been better. Seems like the script was a rush job. Not good
When Nick follows Sloan (Frank Grillo) with his truck, the next thing we see is Sloan running from Nick and Nick shoots him. We didn't see Sloan stopping and getting out of the truck and running away and yet, he had gun in his hand and doesn't shoot back at Nick.
Near the end we see Sheriff Frank telling Nick he has to take Nick in, but Nick says he cannot go back to prison. Sheriff Frank does tell Nick that he agreed with everything Nick did to avenge his wife's death. At the last scene we See Sheriff Frank mulling over his life as a good Sheriff and the decisions he made and we are not sure what that decision was about Nick, but we do see Frank is driving Nick's pick-up.
This could have been good, but it wasn't. (2/10)
Violence: Yes. Sex: No. Nudity: No. Humor: No. Language: Yes. Rating: D (only because of the good acting)

This is novice writer and director Aaron Harvey's only 3rd full length feature film (other 3 are shorts), and he managed exceptionally well behind the camera, but failed in directing his cast, as they were way too bland and boring - except for Grillo, who is naturally high-strung and the only one that created any suspense in this film.
The writing was very sub-par with nothing new we haven't seen before - small town revenge flick *yawns*. Any reference to Hitchcock or Citizen Kane, is an insult to those films, and clearly a fake review. With the long dragged out and unnecessary scenes with a pace slower than a snail for 95% of the film, the 98 min length felt like 2+ hours. There was almost no suspense or surprises, and the entire film was predictable, even with it's failed attempt at the flash-back scenes, the "who done it", and the "come to your own conclusion" ending. There was almost zero character development or backstory. This type of writing is more at the level of a sophomore film student project. Had Aaron Harvey hired a seasoned screenwriter to edit his script, this film would have been more enjoyable.
The biggest plus for me was the exceptional score. Had it not been as good as it was, I would have fallen asleep. For that matter, the score was too good in creating suspense and tension, that never really came into fruition. The cinematography was also great.
Even though it had some all-star B-grade actors, they couldn't help this C-grade production. I'm still giving this film a very generous 6/10, only because it was put together by a novice filmmaker (thus somewhat excusable for its flaws - they have to start somewhere, right?), it clearly was low budget, it had a decent cast, and an exceptional score.

Sloan (Frank Grillo) gets out of prison and reunites with his old crew. They intend on getting back the money stolen by their former comrade Nick Brenner (Luke Grimes). Nick has been living straight and married to Tara (Marguerite Moreau) who is the daughter of local sheriff Frank Parson (Robert Taylor).
It's a moody crime drama indie. It doesn't have enough action. It would have been nice to have an important murder done on screen. The movie is trying to have all the inbetween scenes. It leaves the movie with a moody feel. It would help to have more intensity to give it a more menacing feel. There is a big action sequence but it doesn't look great. This has all the parts but lacks the pace to drive it.

This old style thriller leaves you hanging.
Very Hitchcock and Kubrick, opening is citizen kane in reverse, we want to know what is the past, but all we get is the end.
Robert Wagner pulls off a perfect Longmire in another life,
This movie isn't for relaxing, it's for the old style movie buff who loves a great suspense, drama, mystery.

Seeing all the bad review and the low rating you might leave this one out.
But don't.
The actors show a good performance, the locations are fine for this small town gangster movie type.
If you like Frank Grillo type of movies, just watch it.

Even this movie is straight into the DVD bin in the Wal-mart. Brain dead screenplay, hollow plots (is there any?), terrible directing (is there any? A crappy movie with a brain dead screenplay needs a director?), the slowest tempo to push forward a movie like this one? Ever had the experience your car suddenly died in a deserted road, you tried to push it forward, hoping suddenly put the gear into Drive, the car might get a jump start? Dream on, man. This movie is THAT DEAD CAR, man.
At a first look of the cast, you've got the cool young son in "Yellowstone 2018", then you got the cool sheriff actor from "Longmire", and couple of veteran supporting actors, you thought, well, why not give it a try. But Jesus, never could imagine a movie could have turned out so bad, man. I've already wasted time watching it, I don't want to waste more time to review this crappy movie no more. I'm out~~~Adios, amigo.
