McGinley) and the current sheriff (Janet Varney). With the second season of the hilarious horror comedy premiering November 1st on IFC, a new trailer for the series has been unleashed at New York Comic Con, and we have it right here (as well as several behind-the-scenes videos) for Daily Dead readers to enjoy.

Christian movies: Starring Nicolas Cage, the widely panned 2014 apocalyptic thriller 'Left Behind' was a box office bomb – unlike (relatively) recent popular 'faith movies' such as 'Heaven Is for Real,' 'Son of God' and 'War Room.' A thought on the New Christian American Cinema: Tired of the blatant propaganda found in 'mainstream' Christian movies Two films that might be called “Christian movies” opened last week, and I decided that I wouldn't watch them, write about them, or review them – at least directly. I'm not even going to mention their titles here because I don't promote propaganda films, and that's what this recent advent of Christian movies has become: propaganda. After all, since nearly all American cinema is Christian cinema, the New Christian American Cinema is in fact pure propaganda – not cinema. Worse yet, it bores me. So, here's the thing about what we've come to call...

Since DreamWorks Animation got snapped up by Universal, it seems several films have been cancelled. So what's actually happening?
If we imagine that the acquisition of Pixar by Disney was some kind of seismic shift for the Emeryville animation house, then Dreamworks Animation, by comparison, must be living in the red-hot cradle of a hyperactive volcano.
Animated films take so long, from concept to production to release, that recent Dreamworks titles are making their eventual escape from a corporate context which bears little relation to where they were conceived.
The Croods is a particularly good example. It was, originally, going to be a stop-motion film produced at Aardman with a screenplay by John Cleese. Without it ever being cancelled outright, this project continued to evolve, as Dreamworks twisted and turned like a kaleidoscope around it, in to the final product. The plot was different. The characters were different.

Hey, Hollywood - Mila Kunis is fed up with your outdated sexist culture. On Monday, the actress posted a sharp, pointed essay about gender bias on husband Ashton Kutcher's website. Mila used a recent experience, wherein an unnamed producer threatened her career after she refused to strip down for a magazine cover, as a launching point for a larger discussion about gender inequality in the professional world. She also touched on the painfully slow pace at which the pay gap is closing and her own personal attempts to push back against blatant modern sexism. This ass-kicking side of Mila is nothing new. We've seen her get real about motherhood, offer some no-filter fun on Reddit, and even roast expectant fathers who say "we're pregnant." The best part about her new essay, though, is that she's going a step further. She's trying to enact change, and the quotes below prove it.
