Non negociable is a mexican crime comedy of which the plot revolves around this man named Alan bender. His a polcie negotiator who dosnt really seem to work with the police at all. His wife is unhappy with him but his daughter seems to enjoy the friction between her parents. Alans going about his normal buisness with a man having problems with his wife until he finds out the president has been kidnapped or in actual fact taken hostage. You would think someone like the president would have more security when in actual fact thats not true at all. So he has to go to try and save him and at the same time his marriage. Overall not a bad film, not great but not terrible and interesting.

Most of the charm of "Non-Negotiable" is not in what is being presented, but how it is presented. The story itself doesn't sound all that special. A hostage negotiator has to handle a terrorist situation where both the president and his wife are being held hostage. The film is a tight 77 minutes, but what they choose to show is interesting.
For example, during the hostage situation, our main character, Bender, calls the babysitter to let her know that they will be running late. The babysitter then asks for Tuesday off, and Bender tells her that Tuesday doesn't work, maybe Wednesday. Your wife is being held hostage, why are you trying to haggle with your babysitter?
It also shows the police trying to clear the building and focuses on how all the people are partying and don't want to leave. One of the cops eats some cannabis infused gummy bears. And they have some funny jokes with the daughter.
I can understand why this movie isn't very well liked. The action isn't that good. The story isn't that original. And it isn't funny enough to be considered a great comedy. So, although I acknowledge that this isn't a great movie. I don't hate it; I find it's strangeness charming.
But most will find that the lack of quality action and comedy, non-negotiable.

Quite amusing (not laugh out loud funny) lighthearted story about a hostage negotiator whose wife gets kidnapped, with whom he was having serious marriage troubles. Can he save his wife's life?
The good: wonderful characters! The movie starts out with a detailed portrayal of a marriage counsel session with the hostage negotiator and his wife. The relationship chatter and accusations among this couple is quite amusing to watch, but never silly or over the top, which makes this movie stand out in a positve way, because I can believe in the characters and therefore I can sympathize with them easily.
Quite underrated, yet very amusing lighthearted twist on the kidnap genre.

Alan Bender, Mexico's best negotiator is faced with the task of saving his country and his marriage in this action with great directing and acting. The characters are presented quickly, the plot jumps into action and before you realize it you'll be smiling and wishing for more.
If you enjoy a suspenseful 90 minutes with likeable, relatable characters and a comedic twist you'll love this fun Mexican movie. Think of Money Heist (Casa de Papel) political heroes and True Lies comedy in an exciting hour and a half of enjoyable, easy Netflix entertainment. You came to be entertained and this movie gets the job done!

Or better not ... pun not intended obviously. We have a hostage negotiator ... and quite a good one. The movie starts off with him doing his thing .. and also establishing the humor the movie is about to use throughout the movie - that said and even with humor the movie has some serious issues it tackles ... but always with a bit of ... well fun ... as you can see with the therapy sessions he takes with his wife.
The movie also shows gray areas ... who is good is bad? Criminals and those apparently good citizens ... are there distinctions? Well there should be ... but you will see that morality and how you achieve something ... do not always have to align ... but watch for yourself if you don't mind some minor hiccups along the way ...
