This was a terrific little film that managed to do a lot with a limited budget. Sure, there were a few tropes sprinkled throughout, but all things considered it remained very entertaining. For a movie about a stripper, it didn't go overboard with the nudity and the director usually placed the drama before titillation.
The main cast of actors were all pretty solid across the board and accomplished a very naturalistic tone for the film. There were enough twists and turns to keep the pace moving along, and a few heartbreaks that were rather upsetting.
I'll tell you, if all men were judged by the patrons of this strip club, we'd all be lower than vermin. I had a girlfriend who worked at a strip club, and while there were a few bad apples, most customers were not as horrible as these guys.
The stripper-who's-going-to-law-school is one very tired trope, but I'll forgive the movie for that one since they spun a fairly unique movie out of it. I thought the ending...that comes after the "ending"...was really great. She knew exactly what to say, but we'll just have to use our imagination.
