Lindsay Lohan’s latest holiday rom com, Our Little Secret, landed on Netflix just before Thanksgiving and right in time for Christmas rewatch season.

The film, which also stars Ian Harding and Kristin Chenoweth, follows Lohan’s Avery and Harding’s Logan as they visit their significant others’ family for the first time at Christmas. There’ a twist, though, as the main characters realize they are dating members of the same family, and this wouldn’t mean all that much, except Avery and Logan once upon a time dated 10 years ago, and Logan tried to take their relationship all the way to the alter. Avery’s boyfriend Cameron, or “Cam” for short (Jon Rudnitsky) is the brother of Logan’s girlfriend Cassie (Katie Baker).

Netflix continues to roll out new holiday content, and audiences are rejoicing. The latest, Our Little Secret, jingled all the way to 32.4M views in its debut weekend, making it not only No. 1 in film but the most-watched title from November 23 to 29.

The previous week’s release, The Merry Gentlemen, held onto No. 3 with 9.8M views. In fact, the English films list was full of holiday cheer, as Netflix’s other recent film Hot Frosty also claimed a spot at No. 7 with 5M views.

Second place went to the animated film Spellbound, which attracted 15.3M views over the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday and reached the Top 10 in 92 countries.

As for TV, Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey took another look at the famous true crime case, enthralling audiences nearly three decades later with 13.4M views, good enough for first place.

“Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey” was the most-watched series on Netflix during the week of Nov. 25 to Dec. 1. In those seven days, the docuseries hit 13.4 million views.

The series hit Netflix one month before the 28th anniversary of Ramsey’s murder in 1996. The case has long been a pop culture obsession, as documented in the 2017 film “Casting JonBenét,” which also streams on Netflix.

The No. 2 TV title of the week was the Colman Domingo-led thriller “The Madness,” hitting 9.3 million views in its first four days on Netflix. It was followed by “A Man on the Inside,” a comedy from Mike Schur starring Ted Danson, which achieved 7 million views in its first full week of streaming after debuting at No. 1 the week before.

One might assume that Netflix’s most unhinged Christmas movie of 2024 is the one in which a widow creates a fuckable snowman. But the unhinged holiday baton was passed this week to the streaming service’s latest seasonal offering: Our Little Secret starring Lindsay Lohan.

The movie finds Lohan pretending not to know her ex-boyfriend, who’s dating her current boyfriend’s sister, while they’re all spending the holidays together. While there are no jacked snowmen, there is a scene in which Lohan downs a bunch of weed gummies before attending church service with her boyfriend’s parents.

Which, come to think of it, was already a scene in the Seth Rogen movie The Night Before.

Obviously people watch these movies because they’re wacky. For instance, Lohan’s previous Christmas project, Falling for Christmas, found her tumbling off of a cliff and suffering a severe head injury minutes into the movie.

Netflix’s slate will include many a festive film in December 2024 ahead of Christmas. Several already arrived on the streamer in November, including Meet Me Next Christmas, Hot Frosty, The Merry Gentlemen and Our Little Secret.

Angelina Jolie’s portrayal of Maria Callas will land this month as well. Carry-On, a thriller starring Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman set during Christmas at an airport, will put a twist on the Christmas classic. Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano and more will also star in Liz Feldman’s next ensemble series, No Good Deed. Season 6 of Virgin River arrives ahead of Christmas as well.

I’m perfectly capable of enjoying a cheesy Lindsay Lohan Netflix rom-com. Last year, I liked “Irish Wish,” and got tweaked for it. (I stand by the affection.) But “Our Little Secret,” Lohan’s new Christmas rom-com, is crumpled tinsel of a different order. I’m tempted to say that it achieves full Netflix cookie-cutter. I cringed, I grimaced, I said “No!…,” I forced myself to stop looking at how much time there was left.

Every rom-com needs that love-story MacGuffin known as the Thing That Keeps Our Two Romantic Co-Stars Apart. But part of the weird ineptitude of “Our Little Secret” is that it doesn’t have that thing. An animated prelude shows us that Avery (Lohan) and Logan (Ian Harding) grew up together, became inseparable friends, fell in love…and it was all good. But then we cut to 2014. The two are adults, and Avery is leaving for an unspecified job in London.

Lohan was just 12 years old at the time.

Lohan appeared in “The Parent Trap” in a double role as twins Hallie “Hal” James Parker and Annie “Ann” James Parker. At the film’s world premiere, then-Disney CEO Michael Eisner went up to the Lohan and asked: “Where’s your twin?” Whether Eisner was making a joke or simply unaware that Lohan had played both roles is unknown, but that didn’t stop Lohan from grilling the executive.

Freaky Friday fans are in for an “Ultimate” surprise in the upcoming sequel.

Lindsay Lohan stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her upcoming Netflix Christmas movie Our Little Secret. While speaking with the late night host, she teased a little bit about Freakier Friday, coming out next summer.

When Jimmy Fallon asked if there would be new music in the sequel, Lohan said, “Pink Slip is back together, the band! Yes!” referring to the group that Anna (Lohan) fronts with her friends, Maddie (Christina Vidal) and Peg (Haley Hudson).

Lohan, Vidal and Hudson aren’t the only Freaky Friday stars returning for the upcoming project, which wrapped production in August. Jamie Lee Curtis, Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao are also set to return. They join newcomers Manny Jacinto, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

Lindsay Lohan is stepping out for the premiere of her new Netflix Christmas movie!

The 38-year-old actress posed for photos with co-stars Kristen Chenoweth and Ian Harding at the premiere of Our Little Secret on Monday evening (November 18) held at The Paris Theatre in New York City.

Lindsay looked stunning in a sheer black dress as she was joined at the premiere by husband Bader Shammas.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Dan Bucatinsky, Jake Brennan, Katie Baker, and Ash Santos.

Here’s a synopsis of Our Little Secret: “Two resentful exes are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings.”

Lindsay Lohan had a very fetch reunion with one of her Mean Girls costars!

The 38-year-old actress is currently kicking off a promo tour for her new Netflix Christmas movie Our Little Secret. Amid all of that, she had an opportunity to catch up with one of her castmates from the teen classic. They even posed for a photo together!

The castmate in question is Lacey Chabert, who is promoting her Hallmark Channel Christmas movie Hot Frosty.

Taking to her Instagram story, Lindsay shared a photo of herself posing with Lacey at an event. In the picture, she’s wearing an off-the-shoulder cream dress while Lacey is rocking a black one.

“So fetch catching up with my girl,” Lindsay wrote, adding some happy emojis.

That same day, the actress was the epitome of glamour while on her way to film an appearance on Watch What Happens Live!
