Another one of those women in a book club films, where one reader takes lets literature blend into her dull suburban life.
It takes forever to get to the dominatrix part of the story, and then it is very, very tame. This all revolves around some sort of sex club where people sit around talking in erotic-style outfits more than they actually do anything erotic.
You wonder if the writers have any actual knowledge on the sublect, or if their research ended with reading the 50 Shades books and watching Eyes Wide Shut.
About two-thirds of the way through the plot takes some absurd turn to inject a bit of suspense. But it is way too easy to guess the solution to the last-minute mystery.
The housewife (or college student) by day, sex worker by night plot is nothing new, and this film adds little that hasn't been done before, and better.

It's mediocre, but I expected it to be terrible.
Dee is a decent actress. The lead is fine. Her husband is terrible. And the rest are made for tv movie actors.
Ending is kinda fun. But overall, this is a movie for when you're doing something else on the side.
Repeat.

If you haven't watched it yet, you absolutely need to. This film is far from being a smutty, kinky movie. Instead, it delves deep into the often misunderstood and complex world of being a dominatrix, presenting it with authenticity and respect.
The storyline is both compelling, shedding light on the emotional and psychological dimensions of the characters involved.
One of the standout elements of the film is the performance by Andrew Biernat, his portrayal bringing a depth and intensity to his character that is truly chilling. Biernat's ability to convey a wide range of emotions with subtlety and nuance adds a layer of realism that is rare in films of this genre.

A suburban housewife's book club gets her into a very dark world. A surprising twist in her relationship with her husband, Kurt, (Andrew Biernat) takes you on an even darker journey. I was a little weary of this film, I don't usually watch this kind of content. I have been following Andrew Biernat's acting career and I was amazed that he took on a role like this. He comes off as a solid, intelligent and trustworthy guy. Nice husband type, loving and dependable. His character completely changes and it takes you on the edge of your seat! This movie was packed with surprises! Get ready for a thrill of a ride! Andrew Biernat doesn't disappoint. A little bit of Dexter mixed with Shades of Grey. Awesome story and scary. Hold on tight!
