I have seen two edits of The Hit-man directed by Chris Mul.
The shorter version was funny, well shot and effective, but had a little something missing. It was a good comedy short, especially from a new director, but it felt a tad disjointed.
When I saw the longer edit, that certain something was not missing at all. The longer edit hit perfection. Much funnier and better paced. The gaps between dialogue, filled by the sounds of people and nature in the park location, the mix of long and short shots, all added to the effective telling.
The camera work was good, the sound - despite being in a busy public area - was excellent.
The Hit-man is funny. Very funny.
The Hit-man is an excellent comedy short from a new and promising director.
