This is Sophie Fillières's final film, after her death in 2023, shortly after completing shooting this movie. When she was hospitalized and realized she wouldn't be able to finish the movie, she asked her children to supervise the post-production, with the help of her producer and her editor, and gave them plenty of notes.
Because the main character shares several traits with writer/director Sophie Fillières, she had to state that the script was not autobiographical. However, lead actress Agnès Jaoui didn't feel that way; she was made to wear the director's clothes and rings during shooting, and even the role of the therapist was portrayed by Fillières's own therapist.
It was selected in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
