- For Lisa Giordano Navarro, midlife is messy. At 50, she crashes head-on into a moment when the years she's lived meet the years she has left - and it scares her. So she blows up her life for a chance at a do-over.
- Elena Wohl (Seinfeld, Spotlight) and Mark Damon Espinoza (End Game, Beverly Hills, 90210) lead an extraordinary cast in MIDDLEHOOD, a new half-hour, single-camera series about the universally comic tragedy we call midlife.
We meet Lisa (Wohl) newly separated from her husband Bill Navarro (Espinoza) and having just lost her job teaching at a respected Ivy League university. But just as she embarks on this new journey of self-discovery, Lisa is confronted with her most bedeviling challenge yet - parenting her unruly aging parents - and battling her childish adult brothers. How can she face middle age when she still feels like a kid?
Richard Milanesi (Ryan's Hope) and acclaimed stage actress Lisa Goodman star as Lisa's old-school immigrant parents. Aldo's from Italy, Ella's from Germany and they both refuse to accept her totally opposite world view. Chris Mollica (Westworld, Sofa King) is Marco, Lisa's uber-successful baby brother, with the perfect life and family. Emmy-award-winning actor Fran Montano is Tano, the eldest Giordano sibling, a man so mired in his father's shadow he can't seem to live beyond it. Dino, the third, and Lisa's co-middle sibling, remains a mystery in the present.
Jazmín Caratini (Súbete A Mi Moto, StartUp) and Anna Talakkottur (Finding Carter, Jurassic World) co-star as Manuela and Nisha, Lisa's brothers' significant others; and Lisa Chess (Picket Fences, Frankie and Johnny are Married) is Sarah, Lisa's long lost almost-sister-in-law who turns up with a secret that rocks the already turbulent family dynamic.
Among MIDDLEHOOD's myriad rising stars are standup comic sensation/actor Juliana Destefano (What Remains) and trending singer/songwriter/actor Matt Anspach (Stuck), who co-star as Gia and Cesco, Lisa's niece and nephew; and singer, actor and Instagram phenom Samantha Gangal (NCIS), co-starring as Nisha's daughter, Mira.
And in a fun salute to TV history, Gabrielle Carteris turns up as Bill's new (secret) paramour, Adriana. This marks the first on-screen reunion for Espinoza and Carteris, who played one of Beverly Hills, 90210's favorite couples, Andrea and Jesse.
