A mediocre plot and script highlighted by several inconsistencies throughout the movie, some parts were poorly explained as well.
I feel as if the main power of the main character seems to be a rip-off of a certain Marvel character, and the villains as well. To be frank though , it is not about the powers that made this movie horrible, it was the presentation, and the characters. Especially the main character at the beginning, and yeah, the ending climax was so strange as well.
Anyways, if you exclude all the various parts of the movie, the voice acting is actually pretty spectecular, not to mention the animation, which is so smooth.
Overall, a movie with much wasted potential.

It is a watchable film but there was so much depth missing which is unfortunate.
The voice acting is perfect and the animation was great, it didn't feel cheap and I am surprised this film only has just over 400 ratings in 2 years...?
This film has a few funny scenes but it could have been so much better! How many films within animation apart from Despicable Me focus on the bad guys?
This film wasted a lot of potential and the script was mediocre.
Shame really, could have been so much better.

The "interesting henchmen" idea has been tackled by the successful "Despicable Me" movies - what could go wrong with a revival? Well, apparently a lot.
While "Minions" gave lovable identities to the henchmen, in "Henchmen" they're back to being anonymous and disposable. Except the handful of storyline henchmen, which are so nauseating helpful you'll keep wishing for more screen time of the arrogant superheroes.
After just 20 passable minutes (the original was a short) they run out of ideas and start ripping off one of the most memorable scenes from "Kung Fu Panda". It might be a merciful clue to leave the theatre. From there, it's only downhill with a betrayal of every possible promising idea. Including the basic premise that the bad guys always give it their best and should win for once - but this villain is just bland and erratic.
The director Adam Wood has worked his way up in the animation departments of various Pixar gems. This is the first movie he wrote and directed, and it proves he should have stuck with his old job. It's unbelievable he didn't remember how "Toy Story" featured an interesting oddball team, or how "Monsters, Inc" excelled with the charming "the bad guys are the good guys" story.
Look at the trailer to check out the animation style, then give it a miss.

My first impression was, that I really liked the presentation. It's not the usual clean animation style, but looks painted like a comic book.
Sadly it only went downhill from there. The "story" is all over the place and not the least bit entertaining. Also not a chuckle in sight. What they might have thought to be funny is embarrassing at best.
Burping, pee and poo "jokes" alone do not make a movie. Went out after 40 minutes.

It has all the potential to be an awesome movie. But it settled to be mediocre and a boring. The story started out good, animation is okay. But the as it goes on, a lot of uninteresting, cliche, and stupid stuff happens that took all the good stuff out of the window. Yup this would be awesome if you would choose to be a looser and a nobody like exactly exactly these morons did.....

Did you ever watch Minions or Megamind and think they where too adult or edgy? Did you want to watch a cartoon from the Supervillains perspective but more kid friendly, less threatening and less challenging story wise?
Then this is the very mediocre movie for you. Where there is no sense of danger and everyone has a stupid smile no matter what.
There are worse ways for little kids to spend 88mins.

The plot of the Henchmen has a lot of plot-holes. Not gonna write those. Although it has good set-ups, it doesn't pay off. There's something that is incredibly powerful. And there's no more of that. Character is feeling a bit emotional. But then goes back to normal. There is no paid-off. The twist at the final is awful. It is so predictable. It's good for 5 years old kids. No exception.

This movie is filled with talent, but I admit that the first few minutes made me think I was going to be watching a bad cartoon. I also admit that I almost stopped watching, but if you make it past the Henchmen title screen it starts to get interesting. I was confused at about five minutes in, but I started to hear familiar voices. Then it starts to become interesting, and everything after the "who cut the cheese?" joke turned into a really good movie. You'll be glad you watched it
When the main character say that he is not a superheroes nor supervillain, and say we are family of henchmen.
In my opinion that mean they are family of anti heroes henchmen and off course the plot is very confusing and he want
To work for the bad guys but he saved the people which doesn't make sense.
It could have been better if there was more explanation on the plot of the movie

A fresh and fairly funny movie with decent animation and actual imagination. Maybe that's why sheeple today can't appreciate it? Because it doesn't fit into the mundane cookie-cutter one way to see everything view that's popular these days and that scares and befuddles them? LOL... I don't know, that's my best guess.
I'm pretty sure if you give it a watch you'll enjoy it or at least not dislike it. I honestly can't imagine how anyone would think this is a bad movie.

I really wish people would give a chance to this movie. It's an awesome story about friendship and also family. The animation are gorgeous and the characters are unique and fun.
Would love to see a sequel.
