Tyler is a black trans man who is dating a white man and accidentally gets pregnant. He must decide what to do about the pregnancy with the help of his trans friends and chosen family Gillian and Dan. And a magical phoenix who intervenes.

Tyler, Dan, and Gillian meet at a gender journeys group. When the group ends they decide to be trans family and a magical phoenix and protector is birthed. Tyler, a black activist/artist, meets Bob and they begin dating. Dan and Gillian have their own tumultuous lives, but they both have time to talk to Tyler as he tries to figure out what to do about a surprise pregnancy. The phoenix guides their lives and their dreams to help them figure out what is important.—Hanlon Uafás-Álainn
