We’re just a few minutes into Better Man when the eight-year-old Robert Williams — very much played by a CG chimp — is abandoned by his father. Williams steps out onto the streets of Stoke-on-Trent singing ‘Feel’, a song by the popstar he will later become. And despite none of that making sense on paper, your heart shatters. His shoulders slump and his green, glassy, watery eyes plead for protection as the strings swell. “I just wanna feel real love, feel the home that I live in,” he sings. It’s hard not to love him.
As Michael Gracey’s film relays with unapologetic sincerity and unashamed bombast, Williams’ formative experiences define and drive him. His fractured relationship with his self-absorbed, showbiz-obsessed father, his idol, who leaves his son and wife in search of fame, means that he will spend forever looking for affirmation. Meanwhile, becoming a boyband idol himself at...

Kendrick Lamar’s impact on the hip-hop scene is unmatched. With his poetic lyricism, musical storytelling, and unreserved societal critique, Lamar has redefined hip-hop music. His distinctive style and unabashed exploration of self and of sociopolitical themes through his songs have propelled him into unprecedented success; which is astronomical on both critical and commercial fronts.
Lamar’s entire discography is a masterclass in creation, conceptualization, and execution. His sonically innovative albums distinguish him from his peers. With his decade-spanning discography, Lamar has established himself as one of the most influential voices in the contemporary hip-hop scene. It is strenuous to pick and rank a streamflow of brilliance, but this article attempts to do just that.

Some of the darkest times inspire the best music. For example, one of Robbie Williams’ songs was inspired by his personal demons. The track in question was part of a string of hits from one album.
Robbie Williams wrote a hit song after boozing too much
Williams was a member of the boy band Take That. Like so many boy band members, he struck out on his own. His solo career was pretty huge.
During a 2023 interview with GQ, songwriter Guy Chambers recalled working with Williams. He went so far as to claim that “Robbie Williams” was a band and he was half of that band. Williams discussed how the two of them divided up their labor. “Well, he’s obviously the frontman — the loudmouth, the face, the voice, the charisma,” he said. “Of course the lyricist as well.” Chambers said that whenever they wrote songs together, Williams took the lead.

Here’s why Sandra Bullock was scared of Harvey Weinstein (Photo Credit – Wikimedia)
In a candid interview with The Sunday Times, Sandra Bullock opened up about her early experiences with unwanted advances in Hollywood, shedding light on why she harbored fear towards the notorious Harvey Weinstein. Her story, though personal, resonates with many in the industry who faced similar situations.
Bullock reflected on a pivotal moment early in her career, recounting an uncomfortable encounter with a “person of authority” while filming. “I kept deflecting it with humor, and it didn’t work,” she shared. The tension escalated until she reached her breaking point: “Finally, I said, ‘Please just fire me.’” This striking revelation highlights the problematic decisions women in Hollywood have faced for decades, often feeling cornered and powerless.
While she did not specify the individual involved in her harassment, Bullock’s mention of Weinstein revealed a more profound fear.

Jason and Anna were trapped by Sidwell and believed they were about to die on General Hospital. The two were imprisoned in a cage with Anna starting to fall apart, and hearing guards coming, Jason kissed her. Fans didn’t see that coming, and their reactions were overwhelming.
Anna Was Shaken and Stirred
Never before in the history of Gh have we seen Anna (Finola Hughes) come so unglued as when she thought Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was going to kill her and Jason (Steve Burton). She started banging the bed in their makeshift prison, trying to find anything that could be used to pick the locks. Jason grabbed her to console the former spy, and they got so close that he planted one right on her lips on the September 26 episode. In that scene, he obviously heard the guards coming and kissed her as a distraction. But Anna has been...

Somebody grab my nerve pills because Tell Me Lies is going to be the death of me and my blood pressure!
As someone who doesn’t frequent many drama-centered shows, I have to say that this series is addictive.
Like the characters on Tell Me Lies, I am in a toxic relationship with this show. But don’t worry — it treats me well when we’re alone.
(Disney/Josh Stringer)
Give me fantasy or sci-fi any day, and I’m a happy camper. That this show fully enthralls a space-and-magic geek like myself is a testament to the brilliant writing and acting.
Once Tell Me Lies sets its sights on you, there’s no escaping the drama-fueled pettiness and blood-boiling stand-offs.

In Alex Gibney’s new documentary about the making of The Sopranos, series regular Michael Imperioli offers an interesting explanation for what made the show so different from anything that had come before it.
“Television, in the past, was always about making you feel good,” Imperioli explained.
He added that Sopranos creator David Chase was “all about the opposite” in his own approach to televisual storytelling.
You may be thinking to yourself, Hey, I don’t go in for the feel-good stuff! I like gritty cop dramas like Law & Order: Svu. Nothing wholesome about that!
According to Imperioli, however, TV cop shows exist as a sort of Trojan Horse for good vibes.

Seven Hours After Violet, the new project from System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, have announced their self-titled debut album, out October 11th via Sumerian Records. The band also dropped another single, “Radiance.”
From the band name down through the freshly unveiled album art, Seven Hours After Violet are clearly tapping into a 2000s nu-metal aesthetic, which also translates to the music. “Radiance” traverses both heavy and melodic territory, signaled by the shifts between clean and harsh singing. The subtle electronic sampling during the instrumental breaks is a particularly nu-metal move.
Seven Hours After Violet consist of Odadjian on bass, singer Taylor Barber (Left to Suffer), guitarist Morgoth, singer-guitarist Alejandro Aranda, and drummer Josh Johnson (Winds of Plague). The band made its debut back in June with the excellent harsher “Paradise,” a Heavy Song of the Week selection.
“This album is the culmination of years of creative exploration,” remarked Odadjian in a press release.

Last year, rumors broke out claiming that UFC fighter Charles Oliveira was dating the acclaimed singer Taylor Swift. While the Brazilian martial artist didn’t directly tackle those rumors, through a tweet Oliveira suggested that this wasn’t the case, which finally put an end to those speculations.
One year later, Oliveira has once again found himself in a similar boat, thanks to an edited clip of acclaimed rapper Ice Spice’s Grammy Award acceptance speech. But this time around, the UFC fighter took a direct approach to address these claims.

The Conners – ABC’s “The Conners” stars John Goodman as Dan Conner. (Disney/Justin Stephens) You’ll have to excuse John Goodman is he sounds like he’s using a cliché when he talks about the Conner family. After all, he’s been part of that television family for nearly four decades. He’s seen the young children from Roseanne grow into adults and become parents themselves on The Conners. And he’s worked alongside many of the same people — on both shows — for many years. We’ve spoken to Goodman many times over the course of the shows, and he’s always been insistent that the audience loves the Conner family because, as characters on the set and as people in real life, Goodman and the other actors share a lot of love with each other and their supportive crew. SXSW 2024 is hurtling toward its conclusion, and the music portion of the festival entered the weekend with a bang on Friday. The loudest, busiest night so far this year featured tons of great sounds if you knew where to look, or even if you didn’t — in a year that’s been as much about unofficial shows as the ones on the schedule, serendipity was the rule. Here are the best things we saw on March 15.
