I went to see this film with my family of Harry Hill lovers, and I loved it! Harry Hill, Julie Walters, Matt Lucas, Simon Bird and Johnny Vegas were all fantastic. Saying this as a lifelong Harry Hill fan, I would recommend it if you've ever watched him. If you don't know or like his sense of humor then you will probably not like it. On IMDb, The Harry Hill Movie has too many bad reviews. This is because they do not like him. It should definitely be more popular!
There were loads of funny scenes, including a fight on top of Blackpool tower. The worst part was the end credits! He has a strange background in the film, because he has a twin brother brought up by Alsatians because his Nan couldn't look after them both because their parents went on holiday but ended up staying there.
Brilliant idea for a family afternoon if you need some comedy to liven up your day!

Harry Hill The Movie , the title says it all. You are going to get Harry hill humour in bucket loads and nothing else.
If you were expecting Oscar winning performances, high quality scripts and plot then more fool you for going to watch this film. My son loves Harry Hill and his wacky humour and that is exactly what you get and unlike many British TV stuff that gets transferred to big screen there was less (in time) rubbish on screen.
The jokes are sometimes predictable and on other occasions not, they run throughout the film and you can't help but smile and yes god forbid all those people that foolishly expected more laugh out loud at some parts.
I think we can all honestly say that no British TV transferred to big screen has been a big success. Look at Keith Lemon , brilliant on TV yet the film was utter dross and had far more dull parts than this movie.
Go and see it for what it is relax and enjoy.

Doctor Harry Hill brings his madcap humour to the big screen and he manages to rope in Matt Lucas, Julie Walters, Johnny Vegas, Sheridan Smith, Simon Bird and Jim Broadbent where he embarks on a road trip to Blackpool with his Nan when he discovers that his pet hamster, Abu Hamster who is oozing green stuff only has one week to live. However this is only a scheme hatched by his long lost twin and a pair of henchmen.
Trouble is Hill ends up in Blackpole where he spends a night in a guest house run by the Magic Numbers and takes a guided tour of a nuclear power plant by a cleaner (Oscar winner Jim Broadbent in drag!)
The film contains sniper chicken useful for a midweek dinner, radioactive hamsters, a dog Jackson 5 tribute, the Dachshund 5, shell people, a fox that is a master of disguise and Blackpool.
Its a madcap, surreal, silly mayhem. The film rather lulls in the middle when you feel its run out of steam and laughs. The humour is a bit hit and miss, however switch your brain off, watch it with the kids and it is mildly entertaining and amusing.

I just went to see this at the cinema. It was like watching a really shitty pantomime with decent actors. I felt like crying for all the wrong reasons. I swear if there's anything Matt Lucas, Simon Bird, Jonny Vegas or all the other actors starring in this trashy crap will ever regret in their careers, it will definitely be this. There were occasional moments of adult (well at least supposed to be) humour that just wasn't funny. To be fair, it was the only thing that I could watch at my frankly crappy cinema at the time I wanted. I could've left halfway through it was so bad. It was also poorly directed and the set wasn't particularly good. The only thing I've ever sat and watched worse than that film was either a pantomime or paint dry. I know it's for kids but seriously? It was so immature, I reckon a baby in a cot wouldn't even giggle at it. Also, after about 15 minutes of crappy humour the cast just end up looking lost on set, any so-called 'jokes' wouldn't be funny in the slightest outside of the UK and the musical numbers were about as funny as watching a stone. If I could put 0/10 I would -_-.

Its films like this one that make me wish I wasn't British. I like Harry Hill in his TV burps but this is like watching something that endures a drug induced paranoia trip. The surreality of this horrific nightmare made me feel very distressed. I have watched many banned 70's horror movies but the humour in this really got into my head and twisted it beyond sanity. Luckily I didn't watch this stuck into some dark cinema made to endure its crazy ..... words just can't begin to explain this. Even the kids watching this film started to get restless and bored because the worst thing is when adults think they can make a kids film and get into kids heads.

Went with wife and two kids. We left after 50 minutes having sat through the worst cinema experience ever.
Had the film been branded as a new venture or a change in Harrys' professional direction we could accept why it may not have been to our liking. However the film is called "The Harry Hill Movie" and we naturally expected a feast of his humour and the entertainment enjoyed from watching his performances on television.
A star studied cast only raised our expectations and veiled the dreadful reviews that we had chosen not to embrace. I am at a complete loss as to why such highly acclaimed actors would want to be associated with a potentially career damaging script.
Take a walk in the park, rake some leaves or consider a cold shower but do not go and spend money going to see this.
Harry and his team need to make an apology to those fans who have wasted hard earned money going to see this.

I decided to watch this movie, purely because I love the town of Blackpool and the sights that it offers. Little did I know that this movie was possibly the worst movie I've seen. The genre of this movie... 'comedy' is a complete lie, it was not even funny, and the jokes were either cheesy or didn't make any sense what-so-ever. Its an insult to the town of Blackpool. It may be funny for extremely young kids who wouldn't understand the jokes anyway, laughing at any old thing. Don't watch this movie, waste of valuable time. The normal Harry Hill's TV Burp is better and is funny in some cases, although only hints are shown in the movie, which was disappointing... Harry Hill is very lively in the movie, and very gormless, this did put a smirk on my face at one point. If you like humour which is weird/unrealistic, this movie is for you! P.S Penis

I only decided to comment after seeing someone compare it favorably with Norman Wisdom films! Norman was a comedy genius, outstanding in his time who outsold Bond films. Unfortunately, this messy little comedy is nowhere near that league. Aimed at a dumbed down audience, it grinds along like a stalled car being pushed. Frankly am amazed so many good actors chose to be in this, unless they felt HH might be flavor of the month due to his TV ratings. However, when reading the lines as though they were on a page, it beggars belief they signed up at all! What a fall. It's just daft, and in some places a bit crude. I got the feeling little to no thought went into the plot or story-line, and they hoped the actors presence alone could pull it off. Unfortunately, it falls flat. Very amateurish all around. The actors seem half asleep and the director could well be a chimpanzee! One of those, we hope the TV ratings mean this rubbish will sell, one-off jobs to make a quick buck. What a load of rubbish!

I watched Harry Hill The Movie and I loved it! The actors in the movie are great in the film. First, Harry Hill and his nan perform amazing stunts in this film and is absolutely hilarious. The jokes, the stunts, the scenes and the acting is amazingly funny - but professional. I hope this film gets released on DVD as I will definitely be buying it! The hamster is really funny and cute - and hilariously voiced by comedy legend Johnny Vegas. Nan (Julie Walters) was extremely funny, performing great stunts and cracking hilarious jokes - like Harry Hill. Meanwhile, Harry's mean brother Otto (Matt Lucas) and his evil team try to steal the hamster - following Harry, Nan and the hamster all the way to Blackpool in disguise. Overall, it was a really funny movie and great for the family. 7/10!

Went to see this film on Christmas Eve and I feel as if I've been robbed! This film is the dream of a mentally unstable 6 year old on LSD! In some places the film is so stupid you laugh for all the wrong reasons. The plot line doesn't make any sense and in its initial stages is kind of sinister for a "comedy". And it just gets weirder and weirder. Then towards the end there's a random reference to Jurrasic Park despite there being no references to other films anywhere else. So, so weird. I think the actors (who are highly rated in the UK) will regret being in this horror show. Unless you are in possession of a drug addicted child; do not waste 2 hours of your life
I've never been moved to post a review on IMDb but considering the number of Adam Sandler films that rank in the 6s something had to be done to make a case for this little gem. And a gem it is if, like me, you're a fan of the puerile as long as it's accompanied with a healthy pinch of sardonic humour.
There is something of the genius about this movie. Something refreshingly honest about the performances, the colour palettes, the lame jokes, the physical humour, the songs, the locations, the props. To get some of the references it may help if you've grown up in the UK during the 70s and 80s or currently have children under 16 however the appeal is somewhat broader and the performances from all of the cast are nuanced, tongue firmly in cheek and the pacing and story is gentle and above all it's just fun. Consider the fact that you've got Harry Potter alumni in the cast - Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent - stars of UK screen - then you know you've got a solid British backbone to play off. Harry Hill is unphased, effortlessly gooning about in front of the camera and then you've also got great performances by Simon Bird, a bewildered Johnny Vegas as the voice of Abu and also (pop band) the Magic Numbers singing a lovely song about running a Bed and Breakfast on the British seaside.
Yes it's silly, yes it's obvious, yes it's simple but it's also evocative of the past triumphs of niche British cinema. It nods to our failings and to our weaknesses and to our guilty pleasures - and even the obviously filled in bits (Brains on legs, random shell people) don't detract from the fact that's it's just fun. Like an updated an detitillated Carry On movie - it's the best of British and I hope they make a follow up.
Try it out, suspend your disbelief, have a giggle.

As TV comedies adapted for the big screen go, this is no Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, but then it's also (thank the Lord) no Keith Lemon. The plot is frankly not worth the time of day and there's not enough in the mix to sustain 90 minutes, but the cast are game, the song and dance routines all hit the spot and there are several moments of inspired silliness, including the Magic Numbers running a trippy seaside B&B ("top celebrities have found their way there, oh, we hope you enjoy your stay here, in our B&B"), a satnav with the voice of a Yakuza boss and Harry Hill's pet hamster (voiced by Johnny Vegas) causing an international incident. OK, so a few gags fall flat and it outstays its welcome but overall, if you like Hill's brand of comedy, you'll enjoy this. Good, old fashioned fun.

Not in a long time have I experienced a film so dire in its content, direction, script, humour, storyline. I just wish I could get back that time I wasted on this dross. Despite a seemingly impressive cast of Oscar nominated/winning actors, even they couldn't stop this movie being dreadful. Julie Walters has about 10 lines, and embarrasses herself that I just wanted to hide behind my chair.Jim Broadbent as a female cleaner, not even funny. Matt Lucas as an evil twin, Sheridan Smith as a shell creature. Yet all this revolves around saving a hamster. The story is simply poor and just NOT FUNNY. This film should never ever have been made!

A waste of the talented actors in this (e.g. Walters, Broadbent) and of the time taken to watch it.
I always check IMDb ratings before seeing a film and will not see any below about 6. The Harry Hill Movie did not have a score so I took the risk.
I am a great Harry Hill fan and think TV Burp is brilliant and that You've Been Framed is at its best now he narrates it. Also I have seen him live 3 times.
But this film is dire, dreadful, amateurish and not particularly funny most of the time.
Probably the worst film I have seen this year and perhaps for a long time (I did not see Keith Lemon's movie but have heard about it!).
Harry Hill should stick to what he does best, which is short sketches. And btw, Keith Lemon is brilliant on TV in Celebrity Juice and the bar sketch featuring 'Malcolm' was genius. So maybe most gifted British comedians should stick to TV.

STAR RATING: ***** Saturday Night **** Friday Night *** Friday Morning ** Sunday Night * Monday Morning
In this outlandish film version of himself, TV funny man Harry Hill is distraught to find his pet hamster Abu (voiced by Johnny Vegas) is ill, so he takes him to the vets, only to find himself getting chased to Blackpool with his nan (Julie Walters) and Abu, by henchmen of his brother Otto (Matt Lucas) who wants to make him pay for being abandoned with a family of dash hounds.
Although his silly, twisted humour is the kind of thing I tend to warm to, I've never really made much time for Harry Hill, although I was interested to see how he'd perform to a live audience when he toured earlier this year. And, on that same basis, I wondered what a film about him would be like. Lest we forget, he is actually a character as opposed to an actual celebrity, so with ideas running as dry as they are, why not make a 'Harry Hill Film?'
With a plot that's every bit as piecemeal and apathetic as I've made it sound, it falls on Hill's (or, rather, Michael Hall's) shoulders to inject the film with as much of his zany, off the wall antics that his very presence evokes as possible, but while there's maybe the odd little cackle here and there, generally it's an annoying, redundant mess that's really started to wear out it's welcome even after only an hour and a half.
With such as host of respected performers, including Walters, Jim Broadbent and Sheridan Smith, sending themselves up, you'd have thought there might at least be some out-takes at the end to take the edge off it all a little, but it's as if the film feels it's done it's stuff enough by the end and just rolls off with bland end credits. It's a naturally self indulgent piece that's very existence is enough to make the mind boggle, and leaves you in no doubt Hill's forte lies in TV and nowhere else. **

How can I expand upon the theme: 'the biggest bleeding pile of feces to have been defecated upon the cinema screen, ever'?
It's awful, just terribly, terribly, awful.
Whether or not you find Harry Hill to be funny will have no bearing over how bad you find this film.
I feel ashamed for Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters for appearing in this monstrosity. 'The Harry Hill Movie' is surely, also, the lowest points their, respective, careers.
How this film ever got made is beyond belief?
The fact that there was no press screenings speaks volumes!

Without doubt the worst film I have ever watched, and not just in the cinema either. I was persuaded by my 8 year old son to watch this instead of Walking With Dinosaurs - what a mistaker to maker! Zero plot, zero comedy and zero clue why Julie Walters would sign up for such a movie. The gags aren't even funny to an 8 year old child and the lame attempts at mild adult innuendo are cringe-worthy. Jonny Vegas' role as Abu the hamster is equally puzzling. His character attempts multiple one liners that simply lack humour. To summarize, save your pennies and take the kids bowling or something instead. Harry Hill, what were you thinking...?

I think it goes without saying that you have to enjoy Harry Hill's unique brand of humour to find this film entertaining.
If you do you'll have a great time watching this film - it's full on silly and surreal goofy humour for the 80+ mins, with lots of bigger name stars (sorry Harry) clearly having a ball.
If you don't find Harry Hill's humour funny, and cheered when he stopped making 'TV Burp' then you'll find nothing here to alter your impression.
I enjoyed it, though admittedly after repeated viewings.

If this disaster of a film has taught us anything, it's that this type of comedy is made for television, not for cinema.

This movie is an absolute disgrace and I would like it to be banned in all countries seen as there is a Pentiuner drinking petrol. This later inspired my Nan to also do so leading to her death. I loved the content in this movie but it has also destroyed my entire life as my Nan was my only living relative and I am living in a caravan now with nothing but some beef flavoured hula hoops. This is a disgrace, I am eternally scared.
Although I really like Harry Hill I wasn't exactly excited at the prospect of a Harry Hill film. I went to see it at the cinema because my son was lucky enough to work in the art department on this film. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be better than I expected.
The story was potty but this is Harry Hill and if you don't expect stupidity then you shouldn't have chosen to watch it. Johnny Vegas does a great job of voicing Abu the hamster and Julie Walters is very funny as Nan. The whole supporting cast was very good.
I thought the jokes were great. Quite often they were terrible jokes but they still made me laugh. Again, if you don't like silly jokes then you really shouldn't be watching a Harry Hill movie.
The look of the film was incredible. They caught a real 70s vibe with really vibrant colours. The puppets were great and the costumes of the shell people were really well done.
I really liked it. If you like the Harry Hill, The Mighty Boosh and daft kids TV shows like Rent-a-Ghost then you'll like it too.

Which is how a surrealist joke should be: In "wow I really wasn't expecting that", followed by somewhat blissfully ended. And therein lies the problem with this film. It is absolutely laugh out loud funny in places and of pretty high quality throughout. The trouble is surrealist slapstick is somehow quite tiring. I ended up alternately surprised, delighted and er... actually looking at my watch. Best advice - take a break and watch it in two goes.
