Was fortunate enough to watch and understand this documentary in its unspoiled native language and accent. I am proud to call that broader region by birthplace. I can only imagine what impression could this piece of art leave on someone foreign to that culture, tradition and those times so vividly recalled by the subjects. Based on the trailer I was so looking forward to watch it in all its glory and was certainly not disappointed. It seems slow in places, but earnest and unspoiled through and through. Hilarious in a one moment, but drowning in sorrow in the next. It provokes you think about human nature and how we let it be imprisoned by society and expectations. Will watch it again at the TIFF, definitely a film festival material.

I spent the last seven days in this Transylvanian village, it is called Csikszentdomokos in Hungarian and Sandominic in Romanian. In our last evening our host told us about this documentary that was made in this village, and about the people who appear in the movie, who lives still and who died since. She told us also about the reactions in the village, the gossip, the talks, and it was generally very well taken by the locals, kind of made them proud. It is an absolute masterpiece of love and beauty but also a tribute to life itself. It was a joy to watch together with my wife (we've been married for 24 years) and thinking about our feelings for each other, our past and our future. It's a must see.

This documentary is one of the finest documentaries I ever saw in my life! Sure: the story interest me! For me it is always the same: if the story is not interesting (enough) I will not see it, also, because lack of time... What makes especially the documentary so nice is that there is an excellent cameraman who also succeeds to use compositions which closely are connected , so to say, with that you are watching at that very moment. Besides that: what a nice environment where it was made: makes the film also a joy to see. This I never saw before.... What amazes me most: still not to be seen on dutch television! Which reader has seen the documentary on television in his/her country? Email me and give your opinion and also what you think of my opinion of this film. Thanks in advance!
