Judy Barton, an aspiring actress in her mid-20s, is unexpectedly pulled away from her dreams of Hollywood when she inherits a decaying estate in Arkansas. The mansion, steeped in nostalgia and whispers of a bygone era, belonged to her enigmatic grandmother, Norma Desmond, a once-celebrated silent-movie queen who faded into obscurity. On Judy's first evening at the estate, she's met with not only the silent gaze of Norma's photographs but also the watchful eyes of Max von Mayerling, the loyal but cryptic groundskeeper. Max's warnings about a mysterious room bathed in haunting red light pique Judy's curiosity. She dismisses his tales of supernatural occurrences and chooses to spend her night there, unaware of the room's pull. The red room, however, is more than just a room. By morning, a transformation is evident. Judy's initial intent to sell the estate is replaced with a determination to preserve her grandmother's legacy.
