Zende

I happened to watch this documentary at Kala Ghoda Festival and it was a pleasant surprise. Watching it along with the man himself, Madhukar Zende, made the preview show even more memorable. We had a Q&A session with him post the screening and it was equally fun to interact with the man.

I must mention the style and the editing of the film. It's outstanding. We got to know the man behind the uniform. From his childhood days and what inspired him to be a cop to his fiction-like marriage and his wife who lived with him like a shadow.

The use of AI to regenerate and recreate the scenes of Mumbai riots, Dharavi, etc are visual delight and the background music adds to it. Kudos to the editor for it. Zende's encounters with the mumbai gangsters and his human side emerges as a super cop, more than catching Charles Shobhraj twice. The life post retirement life of Zende is equally interesting.

This film need to be watched on big screen for sure. One request to the makers of the film to put up a trailer at least on YouTube.
